1. Updated Instrument Console

The most notable update on the new Bajaj Dominar 400 is its revamped digital instrument cluster, now borrowed from the Pulsar NS400Z. This updated unit features a split layout with a dot-matrix section and brings in several tech-friendly additions. Riders can now benefit from smartphone connectivity, complete with turn-by-turn navigation, and call and message notifications. The display also shows handy info like phone battery and signal strength, a clock, low-voltage warning, and real-time mileage readout.

2. Ride Modes

The 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 now comes equipped with a ride-by-wire throttle system, replacing the older cable-operated setup. This upgrade is also accompanied by four distinct riding modes, Rain, Road, Sport, and Off-Road, each designed to fine-tune throttle response and ABS behavior based on the riding conditions. Notably, these riding modes are a first for the Dominar, as the previous version offered no such feature.

3. Traction Control

A significant safety enhancement on the 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 is the addition of a traction control system, designed to reduce wheel slip on challenging surfaces like wet roads or gravel. Notably, the system can be switched off when using the Sport or Off-Road riding modes, offering experienced riders more control. This is a first for the Dominar lineup, as previous versions did not offer traction control.

4. OBD-2B Compliant Engine

For 2025, the Bajaj Dominar 400s engine has been updated to comply with OBD-2B emission norms. Despite the upgrade, the 373.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor continues to deliver 40PS at 8,800rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts.

5. 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400: Better Ergonomics, New Colour

Bajaj has given the Dominar 400 a more touring-friendly handlebar setup, aimed at improving rider comfort over long distances. The switchgear on the left has also been updated to make it easier to toggle through the functions on the new digital console. Alongside these changes, a new color option called Canyon Red joins the existing palette of Aurora Green and Charcoal Black, adding a bold visual update to the lineup.

Verdict

The 2025 update goes well beyond the regular OBD-2B compliance and rakes in some serious updates including very practical and safety features like traction control and ride modes. But with increasing competition in the space, these updates will aid in better positoning of the Dominar in its class, especially when the price range is a premium slot.
