The Honda SP 125 is a decent commuter bike. It is made for sensible buyers looking for long-term reliability and a smooth bike to use. Moreover, Honda’s widespread service network is a boon in itself. However, it is a moderate bike overall. Neither its performance is exciting, nor it has modern features.

  • What we admire in this bike

    • Build quality and fit-finish is superb
    • Engine performance is very silent and refined
    • Fuel economy inside the city is very good
    • Suspension offers a comfortable ride quality overall
    • Disc brake variants offer better control
  • What could have been better

    • No connected tech like the rivals offer
    • Disc brake variants are steeply-priced
    • Boring design doesn’t appeal to young buyers

Should I buy the SP 125?

Honda SP 125 is a commuter bike that is positioned above the entry-level category. With its subtle design and good build quality, it offers a complete family package. However, it has very less features when compared to rivals. With its comfortable ride quality and Honda’s reliable setup, it is made for family buyers looking for a sensible everyday commuter.

Design, Quality, & Comfort 8
  • The Honda SP 125 is based on the bigger SP 160 but it looks and feels slim than it due to its smaller engine. The overall styling is subtle and it depicts a proper family commuter bike.
  • Honda’s superb attention to detail is visible throughout it. The quality of the plastic, panels, and fit and finish is very good it.
  • The SP 125 is a comfortable commuter bike with a single seat that offers good cushioning and space for two people. Also, its rider position is easy due to the handlebar tilted towards the rider and the footpegs positioned in the centre.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 is also a rival of the Honda SP 125. The Pulsar 125 offers the practicality of a fuel-economical engine with aggressive looks. The bulky design of Pulsar is loved by youngsters. However, it feels very outdated and it is not as refined as the Honda SP 125. Moreover, the Honda offers a comfortable ride quality and better space for the pillion to sit.

Hero has recently introduced the new Xtreme 160R 4V in the market. It competes with the SP 160. But, the Xtreme is better. The Xtreme 160R 4V has a smooth engine, a comfy ride, better brakes, and many features. However, to get the fully loaded version, you'll have to spend more money compared to the Honda SP 160.

Another major rival to the Honda SP 160 is the Bajaj Pulsar N160. The Pulsar offers a very bold, butch, & muscular design appeal that caters to young buyers. Also, the fit & finish of N160 is very good. But, the sole reason buyers prefer the N160 is its powerful engine & the availability of the dual-channel ABS. However, the N160 feels raw to ride in comparison to the smoothness of the SP160. Out of the two, we recommend the Pulsar N160 due to its better value-for-money package.

        Stylish Comfort
An excellent bike with good looks and a comfortable seating position. Though the design is slightly average, it still manages to stand out with its style. The single disc looks attractive and adds to the overall appeal. It’s easy to ride and performs smoothly, making it a great option for daily use. A perfect balance of comfort and convenience.

        Reliable Ride
I bought the Honda SP 125 in 2024, and it's been a great experience. The engine is super smooth, mileage is 55–60 KMPL, and it’s comfortable with a stylish look. Even after 50,000 KM, it runs well with minimal maintenance. Truly a solid and reliable bike.
