The Benelli TRK 502 is a middleweight adventure touring motorcycle positioned as an accessible ADV option for riders who want touring comfort and rugged road presence without stepping into premium territory. Benelli TRK 502 Detailed Review
-
The Benelli TRK 502 and the TRK 502 X have not changed much in terms of design. The broad front beak and the tank shroud extensions continue to give both bikes a rugged, muscular stance. Both bikes also come with four colour options to choose from, and the mechanical components get blacked-out treatment.
-
The TRK 502 may look a little under-tyred with its smaller wheel setup on both ends, while the TRK 502 X may look more purposeful due to the larger front wheel and golden finish on both rims. The TRK 502 also gets alloy rims and an underbelly exhaust, signifying its road-biased nature, while the TRK 502 X gets an upswept exhaust and spoke rims.
TRK 502 body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 210 mm |

-
The TRK 502 and the 502 X are both built on a steel trellis frame, hanging off of USD forks and a monoshock. However, the bikemaker says that both motorcycles come with a new aluminium swingarm, which is lighter and it should help in negating the weight issues. However, despite the difference between both bikes, the suspension setup remains common; 140mm at the front and 45mm at the rear.
-
The TRK 502 is the more road-biased motorcycle, as it gets an underbelly exhaust, smaller 17-inch wheels on both ends with alloy rims. The TRK 502 X is a more hardcore off-roader with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, tubeless spoke rims, and an upswept exhaust. The braking setup is also common between both bikes; 320mm front twin discs and a 260mm rear disc.
-
The TRK 502 and the 502 X now get a new 5-inch TFT screen with bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, a tyre pressure monitoring system and adjustable brightness. Other features include a windscreen, ABS, and all LED lighting.
- The powertrain of both bikes also remains unchanged, and they continue in the same state of tune. These bikes are powered by a 500cc, twin-cylinder unit, producing 46.9 bhp at 8500 rpm and 46Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The TRK 502 comes with an upswept exhaust, and the parallel twin engine produces a soothing exhaust note.
-
The performance figures are on par when you compare them to single-cylinder rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure. However, if we talk about the other rivals, it competes with the Honda NX500, which produces 47.5 bhp of power and 43 Nm of peak torque. The TRK looks more off-road friendly and offers a bigger road presence compared to the Honda NX500 and the single-cylinder rival 390 Adventure.
