KIA EV2 Latest Update
Last Updated On 3rd Mar'25: The Kia Concept EV2 made headlines at Kia EV Day in Spain, where the automaker showcased this entry-level electric SUV, projected to launch globally by 2026. The EV2’s design language aligns with Kia, and from certain angles, it will remind you of the EV9 and Syros.
Design: The Concept EV2 appears futuristic, bold and handsomely compact. This SUV when launched will definitely get several head turns as even in photos, we were glaring at it for a long time. To add more, the press release says that vertical DRLs, Kia’s Star Map signature lighting, create a dynamic appearance.
Powertrain: As of now, there is no information on its battery setup, as even the press release doesn’t mention anything. However, we believe it might offer two battery packs - 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh - with both RWD or AWD setup options, and its range is expected to be 600 to 700 km.
Features: The biggest feature highlight of the Concept EV2 is that it will feature suicide doors for the rear. For those who aren’t familiar with them, suicide doors are designed to open from the left section instead of the right. Rolls-Royce has made them extremely popular, and now even Kia is offering them in this vehicle.
Other notable features include Kia's Star Map signature lighting, a giant infotainment screen, triangular speakers, V2L, a panoramic glass roof, and giant alloy wheels.
Expected Price: If it launches in India after its global debut, it is expected to cost around Rs 50 lakh to Rs 55 lakh for the base variant. It will compete against the BMW iX1 LWB, Mercedes EQA, and BYD Sealion 7. Being a B-segment SUV, it will become the entry-level EV SUV in India.
