KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • EV2, Kia's upcoming entry level electric SUV.
  • Will get suicide doors.

Kia EV2 Exterior

This B-segment electric SUV is a prototype of Kia's vision for the future. From the first glance, one would immediately notice that it is a Kia car because the core design language is so similar to the brand's other electric SUVs. From the front end, it will remind you of the EV9, and from the side profile, the Seltos. Surprisingly, the rear end features Syros-like tail lights, placed exactly at the edges.

Talking a bit more about its exterior - it features a clean, confident look with vertical DRLs, Kia's Star Map signature lighting, and a dynamic appearance in a compact design, which looks quite rugged because of the placement of wheels at the ends, stretching its long wheelbase.

Kia EV2 Interior

The smallest EV in Kia lineup also uses sustainable materials with multi-colour interior that makes it feel lively inside. Also, Its triangular-pattern lighting, LED dashboard animations, and metal-accented dashboard create a relaxing cabin experience, as per the press release. One of the coolest thing about its interior is that the rear doors doesn't have a central pillar dividing two parts- which translates to this EV getting suicide doors. That makes the ingress and outgress extremely easy and they also fold to create more area for front row seats, so image the space inside.

Other imporatant thing to mention is that it features several innovations like - pop-up luggage dividers, message lighting for external communication, and portable triangular speakers, which can be removed for outdoor use, making it highly practical. At the moment, there is no information about its battery specifications, as it is still in its prototype stage. Kia says it will first launch in Europe, followed by other regions by 2026.
