What we admire in this car
Easier to drive in the city, thanks to the new electronic power steering.
The safety kit is well covered with six airbags, front parking sensors, and all-four disc brakes.
The 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines now produce more power than before.
Ride quality has improved significantly with the new suspension setup.
The refreshed design looks more premium, with a new grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights.
Overall, it is a well-rounded facelift with meaningful upgrades over the outgoing model.
What could have been better
At Rs 19 lakh, it still misses a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and a fully digital cluster.
Still more of a lifestyle SUV; families may prefer the Thar Roxx.
Should I buy the Thar OG?
The Thar OG is best suited to buyers who want a compact, lifestyle-focused SUV with genuine off-road ability, without compromising too much on everyday drivability.
It makes sense for enthusiasts who will actually use its 4WD hardware, terrain modes and compact dimensions on trails and rough terrain. The improved steering and suspension also make it more usable in the city than before. However, buyers prioritising rear-seat practicality and family use should consider the Thar Roxx instead.
