Mahindra Vision S Latest Update
Last Updated on 18th Aug'25: This is one of the four vehicles Mahindra showcased at its mega event on August 15. As a compact, off-road-focused SUV, the Vision S is expected to carry the Scorpio legacy into a new, most likely electric, direction. Built on the NU_IQ platform, it is slated for launch in 2027.
Design: Currently in its concept stage, this SUV features a distinctly boxy design and an off-road-ready stance, incorporating several elements never before seen on a Mahindra vehicle. At first glance, it seems heavily inspired by international luxury SUVs such as the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender - evident in both its bold front profile and its muscular side proportions. That said, the Vision S follows Mahindra’s Heartcore design language, with every angle appearing flat and boxy. The front profile exudes a cyberpunk vibe, featuring inverted L-shaped LED lights, while the grille area is fully digital with 18 horizontal LED bars and Mahindra’s new logo positioned at the center. Below, quad LED fog lamps are integrated into the bumper - a design element mirrored at the rear as well. The side profile is clean, featuring flush door handles and 19-inch alloy wheels. Notable details include an integrated ladder and a tool kit box - clear design cues borrowed from the Land Rover Defender. Interior: The interior images reveal a modern layout with a wide central display split by uniquely positioned vertical AC vents. The screens are expected to run Mahindra’s NU_IQ software, promising a smoother, more responsive infotainment experience packed with advanced tech features.
Moreover, the all-new three-spoke steering wheel features “Vision X” lettering in place of the Mahindra logo.Another image reveals its seating layout and a massive moonroof. Given its compact dimensions, this SUV is expected to come exclusively in a 5-seat configuration.
Platform: The big talking point about this vehicle is its NU IQ platform, which is monocoque chassis and can accommodate both FWD, and AWD drivetrains, and is built for both LHD and RHD countries. So, overall this is a multipurpose platform which will be used in all four cars Mahindra showcased on 15th August. As of now, there is no information regarding its battery pack or powertrain details, as Mahindra has not disclosed what lies beneath the surface.
Expected Price: This vehicle is slated for launch by 2027, though Mahindra has shared only limited details so far. However, considering its size and the rising trend in car prices, it is expected to be priced starting around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
