BMW i4

The exteriors of the new i4 are more futuristic and seem to be derived from the ICE-powered siblings such as the 3-series Limousine version. The front design now embraces a new all-LED headlight with a sharp nose and big front grille. The front bumper is also aerodynamic with bigger air dams to increase the driving range. The side profile is similar to the other BMW sedans with subtle body line changes. The alloy wheel design is also new and matches the personality of the car. At the rear, the low-slung and shorter overhang look fabulous and the i4 has a set of signature stretched-out LED taillights as well. The rear end is also designed to completely match the bigger siblings.

BMW has also designed the interior design of the new i4 to make it competitive with the equally priced ICE-powered sedans. Due to better space management, the new i4 has more comfort as compared to the similarly priced luxury sedans. The dual-tone interiors are available in the tan colour and the finishing is done with the piano black inserts. BMW has also redesigned the steering wheel which looks similar to the 3-spoke version of the 3-series. The instrument panel is all-digital and there is a big infotainment system screen present in the mid of the dashboard as well. The overall quality, fit & finish is simply fantastic. The feature list of the new car is also well equipped.

The new i14 electric comes equipped with the most efficient electric powertrain option in the segment. The i4 electric sedan comes fitted with an 83.9kWh battery pack and electric motor combination. BMW is using a new modular platform for fitting the battery in the chassis to make the car more efficient as well as roomier on the inside. This electric motor propels the i4 from 0-100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. This motor makes a peak power of 335 hp & 430 Nm of peak torque. The power is transferred to the rear wheels. BMW offers two driving modes that include the economy & a sports mode. The ARAI-claimed driving range for the i4 electric stands at a stupendous 590 km per single charge. 

The ride quality of the i4 electric is its forte since its global launch. The executive sedan can easily cocoon the cabin and isolate the passengers from what's underneath them. With the use of utmost tech, the i4 electric delivers excellent ride quality. It is a driver-oriented car but one won't mind being driven around in the rear seat all day long due to its calm ride quality. Also, BMW has tuned the steering inputs in a way that the enthusiast inside you is also equally delighted as from the ride quality. The steering response is spot-on. At low speeds, the steering is commendably lighter and easy while it weighs nicely up to at soon as you press the pedal. The response is good and safe.

BMW has been a trademark in terms of safety measures globally. With inventing new safety equipment, there is a little less that can go wrong inside a BMW in terms of safety. The new i4 electric has been designed to keep up with the safety brand name for the company. It embarks the use of a strong chassis made up of lightweight and high tensile construction body shell. BMW has also equipped the new i4 electric with ample safety features which include Active Brake Assist, Active Park Assist, ADAS Level 2, 8-airbags, Heads Up Display, etc.
