Upcoming Car Launches In May 2022 - From Honda City To New Tata Nexon EV

So far in 2022, a lot of new cars have been introduced, and the future months will be jam-packed with new launches and introductions. May 2022 isn't far behind, with a slew of new cars set to hit the market. The Honda City Hybrid, Volkswagen Virtus, 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and BMW i4 are among the sedans due to premiere this month, with the long-range Tata Nexon EV serving as the only SUV. Honda City e:HEV Hybrid

The Japanese automaker has introduced its first hybrid vehicle for the Indian market. The Honda City Hybrid is scheduled to go on sale on 4 May. The automaker has laden the new City Hybrid with a long list of technology and not to forget the Honda Sensing tech. The City e:HEV is the first mass-market pure hybrid sedan to go on sale in the country. The engine is a 1.5-litre 'Atkinson cycle' petrol engine along with two electric motors. The engine and the electric motor have a combined output of 124.2 bhp power and a maximum combined torque of 253Nm.

2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 will be unveiled on May 5th. At its factory in Chakan, Pune, the brand has begun manufacturing of the premium vehicle ahead of the launch. LED headlights with integrated eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, a new front grille, and redesigned front and rear bumpers are among the features of the new sedan. The alloy wheel designs are also new, and they go really well with the look. The interior of the next generation C-Class has been redesigned with a minimalistic concept and includes a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Mercedes-latest Benz's MBUX infotainment system.

Tata Nexon Long Range Variant

Tata Motors has recently showcased two new electric vehicle concepts, and the company appears to be planning new EV launches in the future years. Tata Nexon, which has been on the market for two years, is one of the most popular EVs in India. The Tata Nexon EV's long-range model is about to be released by the company. The new Nexon EV will have a larger battery pack, which is estimated to improve the Nexon EV's range to roughly 400 kilometres when compared to the present 30.2 kWh battery pack. On paper, the current ARAI-certified range of 312 km is claimed. The long-range Nexon EV is scheduled to be launched on May 11.

BMW i4 Electric Coupe

BMW has showcased its upcoming i4 electric coupe in the India Art Fair. The BMW i4 car will be available in two versions: eDrive40 and M50 xDrive. The initial iteration, which was shown in India, is powered by an 83.9 kWh Li-ion battery pack located at the car's bottom. The M50 xDrive is the more powerful version, which uses the same battery pack but produces more power. The i4 is built on the same platform as the 4 Series Gran Coupe and has similar proportions and design features. For greater aerodynamics, it has blue accents, closed front kidney grilles, and optional EV-specific alloy wheels. The BMW i4 is set to debut in India on May 26.

Volkswagen Virtus

The Volkswagen Virtus sedan, which is based on the made-in-India MQB AO-IN platform, would be the brand's second vehicle to be released under its India 2.0 plan. The 2022 VW Virtus will be available with two petrol engines: a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.5-liter TSI. These engines will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
