Hero Destini 125 is a very popular scooter in the Indian market. If we talk about the history of this scooter, so the Destini 125 is based on the Duet 110. The Hero Duet 110 was launched in India in the year 2016 and later in 2018, the company launched the Destini 125 which got a bigger 125cc powerplant and some more features but the overall aesthetic appeal was similar to the Duet 110. Now, it's 2020 and earlier this year Hero MotoCorp launched the new Destini 125 BS6. The new Destini 125 gets some cosmetic changes, new features and the BS6 update. 2020 Hero Destini 125 BS6: Looks and Colour Options

The new 2020 Hero Destini 125 looks elegant. The scooter gets chrome and aluminium inserts on the front apron. It also gets new signature twin LED DRLs, body-coloured rear-view mirrors and some bold cuts and creases on the body. The scooter looks quite long from the side profile and again it gets some cuts and creases and chrome inserts on the body panels. It now also gets a chrome-embossed three-dimensional logo. At the rear, it gets a sharp tail lamp and an external fuel-filler cap. The new Destini BS6 is available in six different colour shades - Candy Blazing Red, Chestnut Bronze, Matt Grey Silver, Noble Red, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.

2020 Hero Destini 125 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage

The new 2020 Hero Destini 125 gets the same powerplant which also does its duty in the Maestro Edge 125. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor churns out 9.1 PS of power at 7000 RPM and 10.4 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a CVT gearbox. The scooter now also gets XSens fuel-injection technology. The XSens fuel-injection technology helps in offering better performance and in delivering good fuel-efficiency. The Destini 125 BS6 is very fuel-efficient and it will deliver a mileage of around 45-50 kmpl.

2020 Hero Destini 125 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features

The new Destini 125 rides on 10-inch tubeless tyres. Both the tyres of the scooter are of the same size and they measure 90/100-10. For braking duties, the Destini 125 gets a 130 mm drum brake both at the front as well as at the rear. It also gets Hero's IBS or Integrated Braking System as an additional safety aid. The suspension duties of the scooter are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a unit swing with spring-loaded hydraulic damper at the rear. Some other features of the scooter include a semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster, USB charging port and light in the boot, etc.

2020 Hero Destini 125 BS6: Price, Rivals and Verdict

The new 2020 Hero Destini 125 BS6 is available in two variants - Drum Brake with Sheet Metal Wheels and Drum Brake with Alloy Wheels. The former variant is priced at Rs. 65,810 while the latter alloy wheels variant is priced at Rs. 68,600. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. It rivals against the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, and many other 125cc scooters. Finally, talking about the verdict, so if you are out in the market and looking for an affordable feature-loaded 125cc scooter with good looks, punchy performance and great mileage, then you should surely consider buying the new Destini 125 BS6. Mind you, it is the most affordable 125cc BS6-compliant scooter currently on sale in the Indian market.
