2020 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 BS6 Is Now More Expensive Than Before

Husqvarna Motorcycles is a relatively new bike manufacturer in India but the brand has over 100 years of glorious motorcycling history. As we all know, KTM formed an alliance with Bajaj Auto and entered the Indian market in 2012 and it redefined the affordable performance motorcycling segment in the country. Now after 8 years, it is again Bajaj behind the introduction of Husqvarna Motorcycles in India in 2020. This Swedish brand made its debut in India with the launch of two quarter-litre bikes - 2020 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 BS6 and now within three months of its launch, the brand has hiked the price for the 250cc Husky Twins.

First of all, talking about the design of these motorcycles, the Svartpilen 250 is a street scrambler while the Vitpilen 250 is a modern-day cafe-racer. Bajaj introduced Husqvarna as a premium brand in the country and it does look classy. Aesthetically, both the motorcycles get a round LED headlamp with round LED DRLs and a quirky rear-end with a LED taillamp. It also gets all-LED indicators. The Svartpilen 250 has a rugged design with a tall-raised handlebar that gives it an upright stance while the Vitpilen 250 gets clip-on handlebars and boasts of sportiness with a front lean riding position.

Both the motorcycles are based on a steel trellis frame and get premium elements like an upside-down (USD) forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The braking duties are handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear and it also gets dual-channel ABS from Bosch. The Husqvarna Twins get a round all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a lot of information. It is also worth mentioning that the Svartpilen 250 gets dual-purpose tyres for both on and off-road duties.

Finally, talking about the price of these motorcycles. The 2020 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 & Vitpilen 250 BS6 were first showcased at the India Bike Week (IBW) in December 2019 and were later launched in February this year. The introductory price of the Husky Twins was Rs 1.80 lakhs, Ex-showroom. But now, the prices have been hiked by 4,736 rupees and from now onwards it will retail at Rs. 1.84 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 has a class of its own and they rival other quarter-litre motorcycles like the KTM Duke 250, Bajaj Dominar 250 and more.
