KTM brand is a very well-known name in the Indian two-wheeler market. This Austrian manufacturer is known for making fantastic performance-oriented affordable motorcycles. KTM ventured into the Indian market in the year 2012 with the Duke 200. The launch of the Duke 200 marked the onset of a new era in the Indian Motorcycling History. KTM Duke 200 was first launched in India around eight years back, however, in all these years, it didn't receive any significant upgrade. However, now it's 2020 and KTM has launched the Duke 200 in a brand new avatar. So, today we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6.

2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6: Looks and Colour Options

The new 2020 KTM Duke 200 is such an enchanting motorcycle. It sports an aggressive stance and a striking appeal. At the front, the new Duke 200 gets an angular headlamp cowl, just like the older Duke 250. The headlamp is a halogen unit but it does get an LED DRL. Moving to the side, we can see the new Duke 200 looks very fresh. It gets a new muscular fuel tank with sharp tank extensions, belly pan and an underbelly exhaust. The naked trellis frame further enhances its look and at the rear, it gets a LED taillamp. The new KTM Duke 200 BS6 is available in two colours - White and Orange.

2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage

The new 2020 KTM Duke 200 is powered by a BS6-compliant 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 25 PS of power at 10000 RPM and 19.3 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. The Duke 200 is the most powerful motorcycle in its class and its engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The KTM Duke streetfighters have always been known for their excellent outright performance and same is the case with this motorcycle. Talking about fuel-efficiency, it will deliver a decent mileage of around 32-38 kmpl in real-world conditions.

2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features

The new KTM Duke 200 is based on a steel trellis frame. The suspension duties are performed by 43 mm WP upside-down (USD) forks at the front with 150 mm travel and a mono-shock absorber at the rear with 150 mm travel. For braking duties, it gets disc brakes at both the ends. At the front, it gets a 300 mm disc while at the rear, it gets a 230 mm disc unit. Also, it gets dual-channel ABS from Boscho with switchable supermoto mode. The Duke 200 runs on 17-inch tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 110/70-17 while the rear one is a 150/60 section 17-inch unit. Talking about other features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a ton of information.

The new 2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1.76 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. It rivals against a lot of 200cc and quarter-litre motorcycle which include the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, Yamaha FZ 25, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Bajaj Dominar 250, etc. Finally, talking about the verdict, so if you are a KTM fanboy and want a striking-looking feature-loaded streetfighter, one which offers great punchy performance in the budget, then you should definitely consider buying the new KTM Duke 200 BS6.
