Nissan is set to start their post Corona Lockdown innings in a great way by launching the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6. This updated 4m+ compact SUV will be offered with a new 1.3-litre turbo petrol unit that puts out class leading power. Nissan claims this HR13 DDT engine is capable of putting out as much as 156 PS of power along with 254 Nm of torque! Sounds nice, eh?
In comparison, the Kicks' direct Korean rivals offer 138 PS of power and 242Nm of torque from the larger 1.4-litre turbo charged petrol unit. So yes, the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 does have an upper hand here! Likewise, later in the year, the same 1.3-litre HR13 DDT motor will also be used by Renault in the Duster SUV. This segment is really heating up it seems. Nissan will also offer CVT automatic as an option.
Nissan hasn't let out any details on changes being made to the exteriors or interiors. The Kicks does look well proportioned with generous dimensions and we are sure the company will keep its pricing very competitive. For the record, the current Kicks has a starting price of Rs 9.55 lakh and even that comes feature loaded. For numbers, the current non turbo petrol offers 106 PS of power and 142 Nm of torque from the 1498cc engine.
