The CNG hatchback market in India have plenty of options and among those Tata Tiago CNG. The Tiago CNG comes with a number of good features and a decent price tag. The hatchback comes with a 1.2-litre, three cylinder bi-fuel engine with a company fitted CNG kit. The Tiago CNG boasts price tag of Rs 5.39 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes up to Rs 6.91 lakh (ex-showroom). In this article we'll have a look at the pros and cons of the Tata Tiago CNG.

Company Fitted CNG Kit

The Tiago CNG features a factory-installed CNG kit, which enables it to have a well-tuned CNG configuration as its initial advantage. The company-fitted CNG, which is more reliable than the after-market kit, adheres by the brand's warranty and safety regulations. The Tiago CNG can also start in CNG mode and transition between CNG and petrol without any noticeable lag.

Cheaper Running Cost

The Tiago CNG has lower operating costs than its petrol-powered sibling since CNG is by far a less expensive fuel than petrol. Additionally, CNG is a green fuel, improving the car's environmental impact.

Available in Different Variants & Loaded with Features

With the Tiago CNG's four primary variants, Tata has ensured that consumers choosing the CNG powertrain will have a variety of alternatives to select from. A touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker Harman entertainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a projector headlamp, a reverse parking camera, auto-folding ORVMs, and other goodies are included in the top-tier edition.

Well Tuned Suspension

The Tiago CNG's suspension is fine-tuned, and the extra weight of the CNG cylinder contributes to a more stable ride. The firmer suspension enables it simple to tackle poor roads and glide over small potholes.

3-Cylinder Engine Lacks Smoothness

The Tata Tiago only comes with a 3-cylinder 1.2-L Revotron engine, while its competitors come with a 4-cylinder engine. Despite having decent performance, this engine lacks finesse and smoothness. The NVH levels of the vehicle are not up to the mark. 

No Usable Boot Space

The boot space is lost by the CNG cylinder that is in the boot. Therefore, if you want to travel with your family, you must install a luggage carrier on your roof.

Long Queues on CNG Stations & Availability of CNG Pumps

The long lines at the filling stations are one of the greatest drawbacks of CNG. Compared to petrol and diesel, CNG is still not widely available. There are some states and expressways without even a single CNG pump.

Accessing Spare Wheel is a Hassle

To access the spare tyre, which is located underneath the CNG cylinder, one must fold back the rear seat, undo the nut, and take the spare wheel out of the trunk. It is difficult to reach the spare wheel from the boot.
