The new Z900 comes with a fresh design, featuring a redesigned headlamp and tail lamp setup, along with restyled visual treatments on the fuel tank. There are two new triple-tone paint schemes on offer; Metallic Carbon Gray-Metallic Graphite Gray-Candy Persimmon Red, and Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray-Metallic Flat Spark Black-Candy Flat Blazed Green.

The Z900 now also gets a cornering management function with an IMU, integrating rider aids such as lean-sensitive cornering ABS, engine braking control, cruise control, four riding modes, and traction control. Some other features on offer include a bi-directional quickshifter, dual-channel ABS, 5-inch TFT cluster with smartphone connectivity, voice commands, customizable display modes, and turn-by-turn navigation among others.

The 948cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder powertrain has been retained, continiuing to produce 123.6bhp at 9500rpm and 98.6Nm of torque at 7500rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike sits on the same trellis frame, hanging off of the 41mm USD forks and a horizontal back-link gas-charged monoshock, both with preload and rebound adjustability. However, the Z900 now comes with 300mm twin petal discs with four-piston callipers up front and a 250mm single petal disc with a single-piston calliper at the rear.

Verdict
The Kawasaki Z900 has received a set of important upgrades this time, making it more capable against its rivals such as the Ducati Monster and the Triumph Street Triple 765 R. This will make things interesting in the naked litre-class segment, where Kawasaki has been quite successful for some time.
