Yes, the BS6 Honda Jazz bids goodbye to the 1.5L oil burner and will continue with the updated 1.2L petrol engine. This naturally aspirated engine is expected to churn out 89 bhp on tap and will be mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT gearbox.

Honda Cars India claims that in the 2019-20 car overall sales, the petrol to diesel ratio was 80:20. And most of the buyers picking up the Jazz liked the 1.2L petrol better. It is not that the diesel engine within the sub-4-metre will be discontinued but will be limited to Honda Amaze and upcoming Honda WR-V.

Sharing more details on the upcoming Honda Jazz then it will get some light cosmetic changes on the exteriors and interiors. At the front, you will see a full LED headlight design with tweaked bumpers and a new grille. We can also expect LED DRL (Daytime Running Lights) LED fog lights.

The rear profile will also continue with the LED treatment and reworked bumper design. You can also expect the new Jazz to come with machine-cut alloy wheels finished in the dual shade. Also, expect an extra bit of chrome to the styling details.

The interiors can be expected with minor cosmetic details too like updated upholstery design, colour scheme and among others. The 7.0-inch touchscreen unit will be updated and we can get modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Once launched, the BS6 Honda Jazz will compete with Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Elite i20 and Tata Altroz. Will it have to work through its rivals? Of course! It is because with the discontinuation of the diesel engine, people who are looking for an oil burner in the premium hatchback segment, they will have to choose Tata Altoz only.
