Just recently we got the news that the production of the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia has been started and the executive sedan will launch in April soon. The new Octavia will rival the only surviving sedan that is the Hyundai Elantra in the D-Segment.

Skoda has revealed that the new Octavia will pack in more technology, features and most importantly, more power on tap. This upcoming Octavia will get a 2.0-litre TSI, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor. Looking at the figures then it churns out 190 PS with 320 Nm of peak torque while this unit will be mated to a 7-speed DSG for quicker performance. This 2.0L petrol unit is similar as seen in the flagship Superb and will come in the upcoming Kodiaq.

Skoda first launched the Octavia in 2001 and the executive sedan has only grown in technology, features and engine specifications. The Octavia is the best selling Skoda with over 6.5 million units and manufacturing units in China, Russia, India and Kazakhstan.
Feature-wise, the new Octavia will get a new 2-spoke steering wheel, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also get cruise control, three-zone climate control, virtual cockpit and others.
The Octavia receives a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme, leather treatment on the seats, steering wheels, dashboard, gear knob and among other places. Other features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charging along connected car tech are expected.
Safety-wise too the Octavia has got you covered as it will get multiple airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, brake assist and others. We can also expect front parking sensors on this one.
As far as the prices are concerned then it will stick between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh. Please note that these are the ex-showroom, prices and the expected ones.
