Ather Energy has introduced a new discounted offer for customers of the Ather 450X electric scooter. Following a recent lineup change, the base variant of the 450X now includes a smaller 250W charger that takes up to 15 hours to fully charge the scooter. However, this prolonged charging duration has received negative feedback from customers. In response, the brand has launched a new offer which allows Ather 450X owners to upgrade to a more powerful 700W Dot charger by paying an additional fee of Rs 7,500.

Ather 450X

The Ather 450X base variant is equipped with the same battery pack as the higher-spec 450X Pro-pack variant, but it lacks some of the features found in the upper variants. The missing features include 4G connectivity, Bluetooth, ride modes, park assist, media playback, and connected features. The instrument panel of the 450X base variant also has a greyscale theme.
The base variant of the Ather 450X is available at an effective ex-showroom price of Rs 98,079 (inclusive of FAME II and Charger). Customers have the option to upgrade to the 700W Dot charger by paying an additional Rs 7,500 on this price.

The smaller 250W charger requires approximately 13 hours to charge the scooter from 0-80%, and nearly 15 hours to completely charge the Ather 450X. Conversely, the Dot charger, which is included with the higher-spec variants, can charge the scooter from 0-80% in around 4 hours and 30 minutes, and takes 5 hours and 40 minutes for a full charge.

By opting for the 700W Dot charger, customers of the 450X base variant can charge their scooter as fast as the 450X Pro-pack variant. This fast charging capability also allows customers to use Ather Grid to charge their scooters.

Ather Energy is planning to launch a more affordable version of its 450 electric scooter which will reportedly called the Ather 450S. The upcoming 450S will feature a smaller battery pack and less features which means it will be lightweight too.
