Hero MotoCorp remains deeply rooted in the Indian automotive scene. Recently, CEO, Niranjan Gupta, shared exciting news about the company's push towards electric vehicles. He mentioned that in the coming year, Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to introduce three new electric two-wheelers. This move is part of their effort to speed up the transition to electric vehicles. Hero MotoCorp Plans To Expand Lineup - Three Models By 2025

In the upcoming fiscal year (FY25), Hero plans to introduce electric scooters in both the mid-price and economy segments, expanding its Vida range. This announcement was made by Mr Gupta during the Hero World 2024 event. Additionally, the company unveiled the Maverick 440 during the event, aiming to strengthen its position in the premium segment, where it also sells the Harley Davidson HD440X.

Gupta mentioned that production has been on the rise, currently reaching 6,000 units per month. The goal is to further increase this to 10,000 units per month by March of this year. The HD440X initially received orders for 25,000 units and has now added another 5,000 units to the order book.

Hero's Strategic Expansion Into The B2B Market

Additionally, he mentioned that Hero is gearing up to launch another electric two-wheeler, specifically targeting the B2B last-mile delivery segment, a substantial market. Regarding the potential introduction of electric bikes through their collaboration with California-based Zero Motorcycles, he noted that it will take time due to the evolving and still expensive nature of the Indian market. Nevertheless, he emphasized that the technology stemming from this partnership will be harnessed for crafting electric motorcycles aimed at the mass market in the future.

To bolster electric vehicle (EV) sales, Gupta highlighted the expansion of Vida's availability to 100 cities last week, with plans to reach an additional 100 cities within the next year. Furthermore, Hero MotoCorp intends to establish exclusive Vida stores in smaller settings to enhance accessibility, making it more convenient for consumers.
