As per various media reports, Kawasaki India could launch a new adventure motorcycle, the KLX 230 S in India this month. The machine in the news is the KLX 230 S dual sport motorcycle. Kawasaki KLX 230 S
The motorcycle was launched internationally in the early 2024 and we have almost every information about the motorcycle. The company updated the motorcycle as well that improved the ergonmics and off-roading potential of the motorcycle. These include a new sub-frame that allowed a longer wheelbase, improves ground clearance (830mm). The motorcycle gets 21 inch (front) and 18 inch wheels at the rear. The tyres on offer are the dual-purpose tyres. For braking, you get disc brakes at both sides.
Kawasaki KLX 230 S Engine
The Kawasaki KLX 230 S sources its power from an air cooled, 2 valve 233cc engine. The powerhouse will be mated to five speed gearbox and churns out around 20 hp (expected). This setup positions the KLX 230 S directly against the Hero Xpulse 200. However, Hero Motorycles India is also working on a new avatar of the Hero Xpulse. The new Xpulse will be powered by the same engine on offer with the Karizma XMR 210.
Design
Being an off-road centric bike, the KLX 230 S is made to provide comfort during off-roading. It is a lightweight and easy to maneover motorcycle. The motorcycle gets a small headlight, small fuel tank, stubby tail and high positioned mudguards. Additionally, it will be available in two paint options - Green and Grey.
Expected Price
The all new Kawasaki KLX 230 S is expected to land on Indian shores at a starting price tag od Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch, it will lock horns with the likes of Xpulse 200 and other adventure motorcycles that fall in the same category.
