MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 500 Launched At Rs 5.76 Lakh! E20 Compliant

Kawasaki India has launched the MY2026 Ninja 500 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.76 lakh. The biggest changes over the 2025 model are the addition of Kawasaki’s signature Lime Green paint scheme and compliance with E20 fuel standards. Apart from these updates, the motorcycle remains mechanically and feature-wise identical to its predecessor, making this more of a modification update than a facelift. MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 500 

Powering the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a 451cc parallel-twin, four-stroke engine that produces 45 PS and 42.6 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a horizontal back-link rear suspension setup, which prioritises ride comfort and predictable handling.

On the feature front, the Ninja 500 gets a full-LED lighting setup, a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, and dual-channel ABS as standard. However, the ABS cannot be switched off. While these features cover the basics expected from a modern sportbike, the overall equipment list feels relatively sparse for a motorcycle priced at Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering that several bikes costing significantly less now offer more extensive feature sets, the Ninja 500's value proposition may leave some buyers wanting more.

The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is best suited for riders who have always wanted to own a Kawasaki, especially in the brand's iconic Lime Green colour. While its 451cc engine may not sound intimidating on paper, the Ninja 500 is a proper sportbike that demands a certain level of riding skill and experience to fully exploit its capabilities.

That said, buyers looking purely at value for money have several compelling alternatives to consider. Motorcycles such as the Aprilia RS 457, KTM RC 390, BMW G 310 RR, and TVS Apache RR 310 offer more technology, richer feature sets, and in some cases, lower price tags. As a result, the Ninja 500's appeal largely rests on its Kawasaki badge, proven parallel-twin engine, and sporty character. For the MY2026 update, the only significant change is the addition of E20 fuel compatibility and the return of Kawasaki’s signature Lime Green paint scheme.
