Now Private Buyers Can Also Purchase BYD E6 Electric MPV - Details

BYD India has inaugurated its first dealership showroom of passenger vehicles at Ernakulam. The dealership will sell the BYD E6 electric MPV to private buyers. Till now the E6 electric MPV was available for commercial and fleet buyers only. The BYD E6 comes with a starting price of Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The dealership will be managed by EVM Southcoast in Kochi. Customers in Kerala will have access to BYD's all-electric vehicles thanks to EVM Southcoast. In the presence of top representatives from BYD India and EVM Southcoast, Sabu Johny, the managing director of the EVM Group, officially opened the showroom.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business of BYD India, said, Starting from Kochi, we are getting closer to our target customers and are delighted to inaugurate our first showroom in the country with EVM Southcoast. We hope that our customized products and service will spur and accelerate green initiatives in the region.

Thejus Xavier, Director of EVM Southcoast BYD, said: We are honored to associate with BYD, the worlds leading NEV manufacturer. With joint efforts, we will introduce more new energy models to the local market and promote a low-carbon lifestyle.

The BYD E6 electric MPV, and comes with a five-seat configuration, it has a sizable 580 litre boot. When it comes to the E6's engine, the 71.7 kWh Blade Battery has a 520 km range according to the internationally standardised light-duty vehicle test process. The vehicle currently has the longest range of all the electric vehicles available in India. The All-New E6's battery supports AC and DC rapid charging, which can complete a 30% to 80% charge in 35 minutes.

Other features of the car include LED rear combination lamps and daytime running lights. Leather seats and front passenger and driver 6-way adjustable seats are part of the upgraded cabin. Bluetooth and WiFi communication are made possible by a 10.1-inch rotating touch screen. A CN95 air filtration system that cleanses the air to the same degree as a medical mask is also included.

India has 1% of the market for electric vehicles as of January 2022. BYD has collaborated closely with its partners to offer regionalized and environmentally friendly goods for the local market, with the aim of achieving net-zero emissions in India by the year 2070.
