Ola is well-known for giving some quirky yet functional features on its e-scooters. The latest Ola S1 Move OS3 update has taken further the feature game. Available to all the S1 lineup owners now; the new update brings some segment-first features. Read the top 5 highlights & upgrades that this new OS update has to offer below.
Hypercharging
The most interesting update is the availability of the hypercharging. With the new hypercharging tech; S1 can be charged up to 50 km in just 15 minutes. The new fast-charging tech is going to prove very helpful among users who are tight on schedule. Additionally, it has reduced the headache of range anxiety among the current S1 owners. Hence, the users will now feel more liberated to use the e-scooter with the fast-charging. Meanwhile, to accomplish this, Ola has been setting up the fast-chargers pan India. This is being done by creating ties with commercial places like shopping malls, etc.
3-Level Battery Regeneration
Another addition of useful tech is the 3-level battery regeneration. Ola S1 now offers 3 modes of battery regeneration. These include - Low, Default, & High. The 'Low' mode helps in creating a fun ride with low resistance. Meanwhile, the 'Default' mode is set by default whenever the scooter is switched on & keeps the battery regeneration at a moderate level. However, it is the 'High' mode that now offers more regeneration by creating more resistance from the electric motor.
Proximity Lock/Unlock
When Ola rolled out the OS2, it did not offer access to multiple users. However, the OS3 OTA update has changed that completely. Now, the e-scooter can be used by multiple operators. Each user which has been added and connected can have their own set of passwords to lock/unlock. Additionally, the users now do not need to be bothered about punching the password every time. Even the Ola app access is not required to lock/unlock it. Moreover, this new feature also offers connectivity to wifi. How cool, right?
Increased Performance
The new update is also claimed to have increased the performance of the S1. How? Well, with this, the scooter can now accelerate faster in the Hyper & Sports mode. This is claimed by Ola but no stats have been provided that how fast it has become now. Meanwhile, the top speed in the Eco mode has also increased. Additionally, the display now offers better visibility of the stats like distance to empty (DTE), time to charge (TTC), & battery percentage.
Bluetooth Calling & Document Upload
In addition to the above-said features, the OS3 now offers Bluetooth calling. The e-scooter now shows the call notifications on the go to the rider. However, Ola has not made it clear whether this feature lets the user answer calls like Ather 450X Gen 3. Meanwhile, the rider can upload their important documents to the TFT screen & save them. Documents like the driving license, registration certificate, aadhar details, etc., can be easily uploaded. This will come in handy if one is not carrying the physical copy of the documents & faces a check post.

Speaking of the new updates, the S1 has now become one of the richest scooters in terms of features. Additionally, it offers more features like vacation mode & party modes as well. Its main rivals are - TVS iQube & Bajaj Chetak.
