Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 has finally launched in India at a price tag of Rs 1.48 lakh. The new updated model now offers 195 km of range & 120 kmph of top speed. Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 - What's New?

To keep the relevancy of the S1 Pro in the market, the new update from Ola has improved the e-scooter. It now gets a new electric motor setup which makes a 5kW of continuous & 11kW peak output. The previous model used to make 5.5kW of continuous & 8.5kW of peak output. All thanks to the betterment, the top speed is now 120 kmph (claimed). Additionally, the improved battery management now generates more riding range. The claimed range is now up from 181 km to 195 km. However, the actual riding range now stands between 170 km to 180 km in the Eco mode. Due to the new platform, which is also shared by the S1 X & the S1 Air, the 0-40 kmph acceleration has also improved. It now sprints to the 40 kmph mark within 2.6 seconds.

Other significant changes include the new chassis. Due to the new platform, it is now lighter by 5 kg than the outgoing model. The Gen2 weighs only 116 kg, hence, making it quicker in performance. However, the charging time remains the same i.e. 6.5 hours for a complete charge. Also, Ola has now replaced the single-sided front suspension with conventional telescopic forks. Meanwhile, the new flat footboard now allows the rider to enjoy more space. But, the new changes have led to a decrement in the boot space by 2-liters. The current model offers 34-liters of under seat boot space, still making it best-in-class. The price of the S1 Pro Gen 2 is Rs 8,000 more than the Gen1. Its bookings have already commenced & deliveries shall start by mid-September. It is available in 5 colour options: Jetblack, Matwhite, Steller Blue, Midnight Blue, & Amethyst.

Verdict

Ola S1 Pro is the best-selling premium e-scooter in India. With the new Gen2, Ola has improved the scooter marginally on paper. We're yet to ride th e Gen2, hence, we can't actually comment of the improvements and their level but it surely is luring to the interested buyers. At a minimal increase of Rs 8,000, the new customers will get more range, better performance, & better ride quality. Its main rival Ather 450X also got updated recently with new battery pack options.
