It seems like Simple Energy is going to expand its lineup. A new patent filing shows images of an electric scooter leaned more towards family usage, which will rival the likes of the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, and the Ola S1 Pro.

Simple Energy Patents Family-Based Electric Scooter Details
Based on the patent images, the new scooter from Simple Energy comes with a relatively calmer and more simple-looking design language, with panels that wouldn't look out of place on some Italian scooters. The front apron houses the twin headlamp setup, and the turn indicators are placed on the head unit. The side panels appear quite large, similar to some older scooters from a long time ago. Not much is known about the rear just yet.

The front and rear tyres appear to be quite slim, and it also gets twin-spoke alloy rims. We can expect this scooter to also come with 12-inch wheels, similar to the Simple One. One can also notice conventional telescopic forks, and what appears to be a one-sided spring setup at the rear. The seat appears to be quite flat and long, and there is also a small pillion backrest.
Simple Energy has not shared any details just yet, and it is difficult to comment whether this scooter will share its platform with the Simple One, or will it be built on an all-new platform. However, we can expect the upcoming scooter to feature a dual-battery setup.
Verdict
Simple Energy has been doing things at its own pace, but with the new patent filing, it seems like it wants to change that. With the new family scooter, Simple Energy hopes to draw a wider audience and break into the mass market.
