The new-gen Mahindra Thar when launched last year became an instant hit. The popularity of the most affordable 4x4 is such that in some cities, the waiting period is close to a year and yet people are waiting for the SUV. We have showcased severe of the modified versions of the Mahindra Thar but this one right here is more of an expedition ready. Let's have a look at what this SUV packs. Starting with the front then you see this amazingly modified grille that has been custom made by the Classic team. This one takes inspiration from the older Jeep models and it looks kinda classy. The mesh pattern really stands out here. Then you see a metal bash plate that helps protects the Thars underbody.
Now, we also have these limb risers that protects the windshield when you are going in an off-roading trail. Unlike the other Thars we have shown, this one retains its stock bumper along with the headlights. The front says it all but lets move to the side profile now.
The first thing that you notice is these massive off-road spec rims. Well, they are not massive as they have been downgraded by 2-inches. Yes, these are 16-inches as compared to the 18-inch wheels that come with the stock. The BF Goodrich tyres measure 275/70 R16. To give you an idea, the stock version gets 255/65 R18.
You also get this roof rack that is bolted to the chassis. On this roof rack, you can place 3-4 backpacks when you are going for longer trips or whatever necessary items that may be needed. One also get step-ups that helps you
Like I said previously, the owner wanted this Thar to look as classy as it can so it now also gets a modified fuel lip. If you are a fan of older Jeeps then you will notice the circular pattern and thats what this Thar gets. I really wished, it got Thars branding though.
Shifting your focus on the rear profile now, well, this is where the aesthetics looks interesting and gives it a raw feeling when it is on the move.
The rear tyre has now been mounted on the top and that is what improes the look. Since this is a petrol automatic so we all know that the fuel economy will not be that great. And with those off-road spec wheels, you can only imagine. So just in case you are following to the offroading and you need spare petrol, well, you get this 20 litre jerry can that has got your covered.
Similarly, it also gets an additional LED break light that is neatly done. Just above the taillights, you get these set of auxillary units. Well, they are helpful when the car is in reverse mode so to improve the illumination at night.
Now, another edition to the rear profile is when you open the latch. The basket here, well, it has several pruporse. Be it your sports equipment of tennis, volleyballs and well, even your photography items too. All is manageable in this basket and it is a unique touch if you ask us.
