Triumph 350cc Bikes: Engine & Performance Updates

The updated Triumph 350cc bikes range is powered by a new 349cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, developed by reducing the stroke while keeping the bore unchanged. This results in a slight drop in performance figures across the lineup. At the top of the range, models like the Thruxton 400 and the newly introduced Tracker 400 feature the engine in its highest state of tune, delivering the best performance within this updated lineup. The updated lineup now uses a 349cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, achieved by shortening the stroke to 56.1mm while retaining the same 89mm bore as before, producing 40PS at 8,750rpm and 32Nm at 7,500rpm.

This change effectively brings the displacement down from the earlier 398cc unit. On the Speed T4, output now stands at 29PS at 7,500rpm and 31 Nm at 5,500rpm, which is slightly lower than the previous engine's 31PS and 36 Nm figures. Meanwhile, the Speed 400 and the Scrambler range now deliver 37PS at 8,500rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000rpm, reflecting a modest dip compared to the earlier 40hp and 37.5 Nm outputs.
New Tracker 400 Joins The Range

One of the key highlights of this update is the introduction of the Tracker 400. Positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler lineup, it adds a fresh option for buyers looking for a mix of road-focused performance and rugged styling. Despite being a new model, it uses the same downsized engine platform, ensuring consistency across the range. The India-spec Tracker is powered by a 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 40PS at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Updated Prices Across The Lineup
Triumph has also adjusted pricing for most models, with some seeing slight reductions. The Speed T4 continues as the most accessible option, while other models have become marginally more affordable compared to before, down by upto Rs 21,000.
New Pricing (Ex-showroom)
- Speed T4 - Rs. 1.95 lakh
- Speed 400 - Rs. 2.32 lakh
- Tracker 400 - Rs. 2.46 lakh
- Scrambler 400 - Rs. 2.59 lakh
- Scrambler 400 XC - Rs. 2.90 lakh
- Thruxton 400 - Rs. 2.66 lakh
While the shift to a 350cc engine brings slightly reduced performance figures, the real-world impact is expected to be minimal for most riders. The motorcycles retain their core characteristics, styling, and feature sets, ensuring continuity in the riding experience. At the same time, the pricing adjustments and tax benefits make the lineup more accessible, especially for buyers entering the premium mid-capacity segment.
