Pros & Cons of Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid
Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid Detailed Review
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi looks exactly similar to the Fascino 125. It gets a retro-modern design that blends classic styling elements with modern features. The scooter has a curvy and aerodynamic body that looks sleek and stylish. It features a large and wide front apron that houses the rounded headlamp and turn indicators, giving it a distinctive look. The Fascino 125 Fi comes with a single contoured seat that is long enough, providing ample space for both the
rider and pillion. The scooter's body is adorned with chrome accents on the front grille, handlebar, mirrors, and exhaust muffler, adding to its premium appeal. At the rear, the scooter has a long and elegant tail section with an LED taillight and turn indicators. The grab handle is neatly integrated into the bodywork and provides a convenient grip for the pillion ride. One thing that we would have loved to see change, is the fuel lid. It still sits under the seat, unlike TVS Jupitor and some more scooters, where it is housed above the taillights assembly.
Dimensions wise it sits at measurements of 1,920 x 685 x 1,150 ( in mm) (l x b x h).The wheelbaseis a good 1280 mm and it sits 780 mm above the ground. Coming to its weight, it comes out to be 99 kgs with full oil and fuel tank. The fuel tank storage is 5.2 litres, which considering its fuel economy, should probably be good for 230- 250 kms range. The dimensions are similar to the standard variant. The underseat storage stands at 2.1 litres, which would store your helmet with ease.
Jumping onto features, it gets additional features when compared to the standard version. Firstly, with the hybrid tag comes the Starter Motor Generator. This is the major upgrade in terms of the tech on board. And then the LED headlamp, Bluetooth enabled digital cluster, side-stand engine cut-off, and automatic start-stop features as well. Telematics now enable you to locate your parked vehicle, parking location record based on GPS, answer-back, riding history and a hazard light functionality.
The power figures of the Fi Hybrid Yamaha Fascino 125 remains somewhat similar to the standard variant. The 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine on the Fascino 125 Hybrid makes 8.04bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm as against 8.04bhp at 6,500rpm and 9.7Nm at 5,000rpm on the standard version of the scooter. While power output remains the same, the torque figures are up by just a notch. The difference is however, marginal. Coming to performance, though the power figures are identical, this one feels a little more quick in response to the throttling. Thanks to the assisting motor as this is the hybrid version. The
maximum speed of the scooter rests at somewhere around 95 km/hr mark. At this level, the vibrations are well managed, but you can’t expect it to not shake at all. This is within the acceptable limits and nothing to ruin your riding experience. The fuel efficiency will dwindle somewhere in the range of 45-50 kmpl. It however, depends on a lot of different factors. To brake the scooter, disc brakes on front and drums on the rear tyres provide enough stopping power in your regular day to day usage. If you want to keep it as your daily running companion, you will not be disappointed. It sure is a well-rounded package.
