With this new edition, the Activa 125 gets a similar sort of styling as the regular Activa. Pros & Cons of Activa 125
Good build quality with no panel gaps
Packed with features like H-Smart technology
Disc brake variant offers good stopping power
Engine is very smooth as well as powerful
Suspension is not as comfortable as the rivals
Standard variant has less braking power due to drum brakes
Underseat storage space feels inadequate
Should I buy the Activa 125?
The Honda Activa 125 is based on the smaller Activa scooter. Carrying forward its name, it offers a bigger engine, more power, & a new design. Also, the top variant of the Activa 125 comes equipped with smart keyless features that none of the rivals offer. Its engine is reliable and performance-packed as well. We recommend you buy it if you want a scooter that offers you more performance than the regular Activa. Also, the connected features help you in day-to-day rides.
- The Activa 125 offers very good riding posture for city commutes. The combo of seat height & the handlebar position makes it an easy scooter to sit & ride. Also, the flat footboard offers a decent amount of leg space to the rider. We also love the position of the rearview mirrors which show a good view of the background. Overall, the ergonomics of Activa 125 are sorted & easy.
- The seat cushioning on it is also well done. The scooter feels comfortable even after riding for long durations. Thanks to the wide seat, the rider & pillion can easily sit and potter inside the city all day long. For the pillion, the footrests are rightly positioned, meaning that pillion of any age & size can find a comfortable sitting position easily.
- The ride quality of the Acitva 125 is on the softer side. The suspension is tuned for city use and it feels confident on broken roads. But if you want to ride it enthusiastically, the suspension feels less engaging. Also, the 12-inch front tyre helps in increasing comfort on the bad roads.
- The BS6 124cc engine of Activa 125 is a decent performer. It is tuned for family use and hence it is not a very fast scooter. But, you’ll not complain either. It has an ample amount of power in a low rev range and overtaking the city traffic is easy. But, if you’re riding it enthusiastically, you’ll not be thrilled. Also, on the open roads, you need to plan the overtakes. The ACG starter helps in saving fuel as well and makes the scooter smooth. The overall engine performance of the Activa 125 is very smooth & comfortable.
- The base version comes with drum brakes which feel insufficient. But, the DLX variants come with a big disc brake at the front. With the Combined Braking System (CBS), the Disc brake version offers better braking power. We recommend buying the Disc variants. Also, the braking on the base variants could’ve been better.
- The ARAI-claimed fuel economy of the Activa 125 is upwards of 50 kmpl. In our testing, we found that this figure is true. The Activa 125 can easily return more than 50 kmpl if driven sedately. Also, the users on our website report that this scooter gives 45-50 kmpl (on average).
- The design of Activa 125 is derived from the smaller Activa. It looks a bit similar to the 110cc Activa. But, the bigger side panels, a new front design with a different headlight, & black-chrome contrast highlights make it look different on the road. The design of it is smart & handsome. If you buy it, you’ll not get bored of its design or looks even after years.
- Feature-wise, the Acitva 125 comes equipped with an LED headlight, a semi-digital speedometer with LCD, a 12-inch front alloy wheel, & H-Smart connected features. It doesn’t have the Bluetooth smartphone connectivity that rivals like the TVS Jupiter 125 offer. The Activa 125 is moderately equipped with features that are useful to a family scooter buyer.
- If you want more technology, the Activa 125 also comes with a H-Smart variant. It offers tech like keyless unlock, safe find, & smart start. The user can start the scooter by rotating the key fob. Also, you can find the scooter in a dense parking lot with the key. One can also unlock the scooter, fuel lid, & boot from a distance without using the key.
