Mahindra XUV e9

Last Updated on 31st Oct'23 :On World EV Day (September 9), Mahindra provided an exciting glimpse of its forthcoming electric SUV lineup based on a new platform. This presentation also unveiled an XUV.e9 prototype in India for the first time. The XUV.e9, essentially a coupe version of the XUV.e8, had been previously spied multiple times. Notably, the XUV.e9 showcases a sleeker and more appealing design compared to the XUV.e8, hinting at its potential to become a strong contender in Mahindra's lineup and possibly in export markets. 

Dimensions: In terms of dimensions, the XUV e9 measures 4790 mm in length, 1905 mm in width, and 1690 mm in height, providing ample space and comfort.

Ground Clearance: It's expected to provide ample space with up to 220 mm of ground clearance.

Engine: Powered by Mahindra's INGLO platform, the XUV e9 is designed to accommodate batteries ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh, offering an impressive WLTP-claimed range of up to 450 km. Its fast charging capability, up to 175 kW, allows for a swift 30-minute charge from 0 to 80 per cent. This versatile platform supports both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, with powertrains delivering up to 285 PS for RWD models and up to 394 PS for AWD models.

Features: When it comes to features, expect a host of advanced technologies such as three integrated displays including a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and passenger display. Other highlights include adaptive cruise control, ventilated and powered front seats, multi-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a premium sound system, a power driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety is a priority with features such as ADAS, Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and more.

Launch: Mahindra has said that the SUV will enter production around the end of 2024 and will be launched sometime around April 2025.

Price: Mahindra XUV e9, an anticipated electric vehicle with a starting price expected around Rs 25.00 Lakh, reaching up to Rs 52 lakh depending on the variant. 

Rivals: In terms of competition, the Mahindra XUV e9 will square off against rivals like the Tata Harrier EV.
