Mahindra has expanded its premium electric SUV portfolio with the launch of the Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition, priced at Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec Pack Three variant, this limited-run version focuses on enhancing the cabin experience and visual exclusivity rather than altering the mechanical setup. Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Exterior: Subtle Yet Distinctive

Mahindra XEV 9e

The Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition doesn't radically alter the SUV's design but introduces unique cosmetic touches to set it apart. The most noticeable change comes in the form of two new monotone shades- Satin Black and Satin White. Satin Black lends the SUV a stealthier presence, while Satin White is paired with contrasting gloss-black cladding to add visual depth. A discreet 'Cineluxe' badge on the rear pillars further differentiates the edition. Beyond these updates, the SUV retains the Pack Three trim's visual elements, including 19-inch alloy wheels, full-LED lighting and more

Inside, the Cineluxe Edition introduces a new two-tone cabin theme finished in Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black leatherette. Brown contrast stitching extends across the seats, dashboard and steering wheel, creating a richer visual ambience compared to the standard variant. The dashboard continues to feature a coast-to-coast triple-screen layout with high-definition displays. The 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos remains a highlight, aimed at delivering an immersive in-cabin experience.

Other features carried over from Pack Three include an augmented-reality head-up display, surround-view camera system with surveillance mode, panoramic glass roof (Infinity Roof), ambient lighting with extensive colour customisation, wireless charging, and multiple HVAC modes such as Camp, Keep, and PawPal. Mahindra's advanced driver assistance suite and Secure360 safety package also remain intact.

Powertrain & Performance

The Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition is identical to the Pack Three trim, exclusively offered with the 79 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Power is delivered via a rear-mounted electric motor producing 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a range of around 500 km, while real-world figures are expected to be slightly lower depending on driving conditions.

Mahindra has introduced the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition in India with a price tag of Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Reservations for this special variant will open on March 2, 2026, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from March 10, 2026.

Verdict

The XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition feels less like a feature upgrade and more like a positioning exercise. Nothing drastically changes, the 79 kWh battery, rear-motor setup, and performance remain intact. What Mahindra is really doing here is sharpening the emotional appeal. The Satin finishes and richer interior theme elevate perceived luxury, while the triple-screen setup and Dolby Atmos system reinforce its tech-first identity. However, buyers expecting additional performance, extended range or mechanical enhancements may find the changes purely cosmetic. The Cineluxe Edition makes sense for those who value exclusivity and cabin ambience over specification upgrades. It doesn't redefine the XEV 9e, it simply makes it feel more special.
