Last Updated on 28th Apr'25: The Baleno remains one of the top-selling premium hatchbacks in the Indian market. Although the brand has not made any recent changes to the Baleno, it has updated the Grand Vitara and a few other models with 6 airbags as standard. The brand is planning to make 6 airbags standard across all its models, aligning with the government's push towards safety and making 6-airbags standard in all cars sold in the country. 

 

While Maruti Baleno continues to be a solid seller in the premium hatchback category rivalling Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno witnesses a price hike of up to Rs. 9,000 from February 2025 but this quantum is only applicable for the petrol automatic trims. For other CNG and the petrol manual models, the hike is limited to just Rs. 4,000.

The current-gen Maruti Suzuki Baleno is an exceptional premium hatchback. It stands out with a wide range of features and a refreshed look. Maruti has gone the extra mile to enhance the Baleno's features. They introduced some segment-first innovations at the time, along with a good real-world fuel economy, something the brand is known for. Maruti has strategically priced this model to stay competitive amongst other premium alternatives. This makes it a compelling choice in its segment. However, if you want the same package in a different avatar, its Toyota twin, the Glanza, is also an option, but that retails at a higher price point.

The new Baleno looks more sporty yet elegant in design

It offers a practical cabin with a spacious and feature-loaded interior

Standard features include all-4 power windows. The car also has automatic climate control and a rear defogger.

Fuel-efficient petrol and CNG engines on offer

You can get the automatic transmission at an affordable price.

The suspension is well-tuned to offer a comfortable ride

The Baleno lacks turbo petrol and diesel engine choices

The automatic transmission exhibits a noticeable lag. It lacks the smoothness seen in rival offerings with CVT or DCT.

It doesn't deliver an enjoyable driving experience, as the engine is tuned more for efficiency

Several features are absent which can be seen in competitors. They include an air purifier, rear armrest, sunroof, and TPMS.

The higher variants of the Baleno are pricey. The features provided do not seem to justify the cost.

Mere liye Baleno Delta CNG ki sabse badi strength hai. Mileage + Comfort + Maruti ka service network. Car sirf chalni nahi chahiye, har kilometer par paisa bhi bachna chahiye aur yahi Baleno CNG ki real strength hai.
