2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Launch on 5th September - Things to Expect
With the festive season looming over, Maruti Suzuki is turning no stone unturned to ensure a strong season for itself. Despite the recently concluded launch of the updated Brezza, the folks at Maruti Suzuki are in no mood to rest and are now gearing up for the launch of the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift in the first week of September. Here’s what all to expect from this upcoming premium hatchback.
Design
As was the case with the updated Brezza, don’t expect too many design changes on the Baleno facelift as well. Except for maybe minor revisions to the grille and bumper, we don’t think that there are going to be any radical changes. The Baleno is expected to carry the same neutral styling that it has been carrying for quite a while now. At best one can expect some changes to the headlights and tail lights but nothing that could be described as a substantial cosmetic update.

Engine
This is where we are expecting the Maruti Suzuki Baleno to have a major update. The 4-cylinder, K12C Dualjet unit is expected to finally be on its way out with the 3-cylinder, Z12E unit replacing it under the hood. However, this engine is expected to be a part of a new series hybrid setup that is expected to give a mileage of 35 kmpl which is going to be the highest in this segment. The standard Z12E too is expected to be under the hood of the new Baleno that would be mated to a 5 speed manual or a 5 speed AMT gearbox
With Maruti Suzuki introducing the boosterjet on the Brezza, there might be a slight chance that this engine makes it to the Baleno as well giving a choice for people who like that extra bit of performance. The strong hybrid is expected to come with a E-CVT gearbox meanwhile if the boosterjet is offered, its most likely going to be with a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
Interiors
On the interiors front, there might not be too many changes in terms of the dashboard layout, but the quality of materials used might be different to give the interior a much better appeal than before. There can also be some changes to the steering wheel design as well to give the Baleno facelift a fresher feel overall but on the whole there’s going to be nothing major about it.
New 2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift Features
The 2026 Baleno facelift is going to carry forward a lot of features from the previous model. Heads-up display, 6 airbags, a 10.1-inch screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are some of the features expected on the new model. Also, some ADAS features like the ones on the updated Brezza are expected to make their way to the Baleno facelift as well.
