Variant Recommendation
Mahindra has only revealed the pricing of the RWD variants and the pricing of the 4X4 variants is expected to be unveiled soon. If we talk about the most value-for-money variant in the Thar Roxx 2WD configuration, it would be the AX3L. The AX3L comes with a price tag of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets a plethora of features. The brand has added ADAS features starting from this variant and it also gets a 10.25-inch screen, wireless connectivity, and wireless charging among other features. The only drawback of this variant is the availability of a sole 2.2-liter diesel engine with a manual transmission.
If you are looking for a value for money Petrol variant then the MX5 variant can meet your requirements. It gets most of the available features in the Thar Roxx lineup but misses on feel-good features like leather seats, seat ventilation, powered seat adjustment, and more. The MX5 Petrom 2WD variant starts at Rs 16.49 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Mahindra Thar Roxx was one of the most anticipated launches of the year and Mahindra has done a good job with the 5-door Thar. The brand has advanced beyond the 3-door Thar, making the 5-door version more feature-loaded in terms of convenience and safety features. It is now more feature-loaded, more premium, more comfortable, more spacious, and fun to drive lifestyle SUV. However, the pricing of the top-spec RWD variant is on the upper side and the pricing of the 4X4 variant is yet to come. The Mahindra Thar Roxx now offers a good package of performance with convenience and practicality. Now, this can be the primary car of your family if you are not worried about fuel expenses.

Should I buy the Thar Roxx?
If you are in the market for a lifestyle vehicle that offers a butch look, a plethora of features, and good practicality then the Mahindra Thar Roxx should be in your consideration. Paired with multiple engine and drivetrain options it will cater to the needs of different customers. Additionally, it boasts a more modern design, an expanded feature set, and improved handling thanks to suspension upgrades.
- The new Mahindra Thar Roxx holds the original Thar silhouette but gets some design changes to boast the long wheelbase. The brand has redesigned the front grille with a six-slat face to make it different from the 3-door version. It gets a new LED projector headlamp with a C-shaped LED DRL.
- The side profile gets all-new 19-inch diamond cut dual-tone alloy wheels, the rear-door handle is placed vertically on the C-pillar and the rear quarter glass boasts some easter eggs.
- The rear profile of the Thar Roxx is somewhat similar to the 3-door version but gets some changes as well. The rear gets a new LED tail lamp setup. The tailgate opening is similar to the 3-dor version.
- Dimension wise the SUV measures 4428 mm in length, 1870 mm in width 1923 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2850 mm. The boot space of the Thar Roxx measures 644 liters. The SUV has a water-wading capacity of 650 mm.

- The interior of the 5-door version has seen a lot of upgrades in terms of cabin quality and features. The cabin now features a lot of soft-touch material on the dashboard and door pads. The interior in the top-spec variants gets white leatherette seats. The brand has added a lot of convenience features inside the cabin.
- On the features front, the Thar Roxx gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless connectivity, a new digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a center armrest with storage, an electrically adjustable driver seat, Harmon Kardon premium sound system, wireless charging, ventilated seats, reclining rear seat, rear AC vent, Type-C charging ports, a panoramic sunroof, level 2 ADAS and more.
- For safety, the Thar Roxx gets 6-airbags as standard, TPMS, level 2 ADAS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 360-degree camera, ESC, EBD, brake assist, traction control system, brake locking differential, and vehicle dynamic control among other features.
- The Thar Roxx continues to offer the same engine options as the Thar 3-door but here the brand has continued to offer the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine in the RWD versions as well.
- It offers a 2.0-litre medallion turbo petrol engine producing 160 bhp of power and 330 Nm of peak torque with the 6-speed manual transmission in the 4WD version. With the 6-speed AT gearbox, this engine produces 174 bhp of power and 380 Nm of peak torque. At last, with the RWD drivetrain, it produces 150 bhp of power with a 6-speed manual transmission.
- The other engine option is the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 150 bhp of power and 330 Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT gearbox in the RWD variant. In the 4WD version, this engine produces the same power and torque as the RWD with a manual transmission but with the 6-speed AT, it produces 172 bhp of power and 370 Nm of peak torque.
