The major notable differences between the Scrambler 400 X and Scrambler 400 XC can be seen on the design front. Visually, it features a beak-style front fender body coloured flyscreen that enhances the overall appeal. The XC variant is equipped with tubeless spoke wheels, which give you a more rugged vibe. The sizes remain the same, 19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear. Moreover, for added protection, the XC gets an aluminium sump guard and engine crash bars as standard, which are missing on the 400 X The XC comes in three new colour options: Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White, which distinguish it from the X.

Powertrain

At heart, both bikes are equipped with the same unit. They are powered by a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which belts out 39.4 bhp at 8000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm.

Specifications

Both the Scrambler 400 X and Scrambler 400 XC share the same suspension setup, featuring 43mm USD Big Piston forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear, offering 150mm travel on both ends. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, equipped with dual-channel ABS and switchable rear ABS on both models. The ground clearance for the Scrambler 400 X stands at 195mm, which is the same as the XC. The seat height remains identical at 835mm, ensuring a familiar upright riding posture. However, due to additional equipment like crash guards and sump protection, the XC is 190kg, which is slightly heavier than the Scrambler 400 Xs 185 kg kerb weight.

Pricing

When it comes to pricing, the Triumph Scrambler 400 x is available at a price tag of Rs 2.67 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Scrambler 400 XC is available at a price tag of Rs 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
