Volkswagen Virtus

The Virtus has exteriors that are pretty much in the line with the Volkswagen sedans sold across the globe. The front end with its slim grille and LED headlamps is a throwback to the Jetta that was sold some time ago.  The sides too carry on with a clean look and are flanked by 16-inch alloy wheels which might look a size small for a car of this size. The rear too has a premium look with the Audi-styled LED tail-lamps that have been blacked out. All in all, if you want to pick the aesthetically pleasing and performance oriented model then the GT model should be your pick

Interiors of the Virtus are very similar to that of its SUV sibling – the Taigun. This is evident in the overall dashboard design. Just like the Taigun, the interior is dominated by a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital cockpit display for the driver. Leather seats are available in the top trims of the Virtus which are ventilated. All these nifty features make the car decently loaded as per the segment. It continues with dual-tone interior in the 1.0L TSI model while the 1.5L TSI gets all-black cabin layout with contrast colour on the dashboard

The Virtus has a McPherson strut suspension up front and a twist-beam rear axle. It has 16-inch rims with 205/55 R16 tyres.   The ride quality of the Virtus is adequate under most driving conditions. At low speeds on rough roads, the absorbent nature of the suspension will keep you comfortable. Body movement is well controlled, and the suspension easily absorbs minor potholes. However, large potholes are noticeable in the cabin. 

The Virtus has excellent driving habits. When cruising at speeds of 100-120 km/h, the straight-line stability is excellent, and the car feels extremely steady. Long road trips should be reasonably comfortable in this sedan. It will also not let you down on twisty roads. The light front end makes cornering easy. There is some body roll, but it is well controlled and does not feel excessive even when pushing the car hard. You can carry more speed into corners as a result of this. Although there is a hint of understeer, the Virtus maintains its line admirably. Overall, the Virtus is good in ride and handling!

The Virtus has two turbo-petrol engines: a 114 BHP, 1.0 TSI with 6-speed MT and AT transmissions, and a 148 BHP, 1.5 TSI with a 7-speed DSG. The trim lines were created by Volkswagen based on the engines available. 'Dynamic Line' offers the 1.0 TSI, while 'Performance Line' offers the 1.5 TSI. Both engines are excellent all-around choices for those who want a nice mix of power and efficiency. Six airbags, ESC, ABS, a multi-collision brake, brake disc wiping, tyre pressure deflation warning, hill hold control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors are among the safety features available on the Volkswagen Virtus. Rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, automatic headlamps, and automatic wipers are also included. The car has not been tested as per the Global NCAP standards
