HMSI has officially launched their flagship adventure motorcycle i.e. 2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports in its newest iteration between a price tag of Rs 16.01-17.55 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The new motorcycle hosts new technology updates.

2022 Honda Africa Twin Engine & Performance

Like the previous version, the new updated adventure bike also features the same rock-solid reliable 1082.96cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 8-valve, parallel-twin engine which is capable of producing a peak power of 97.89 hp (which is 3 hp less than the outgoing motorcycle) and a similar peak torque of 103 Nm. The 270-degree offset-crankshaft delivers seamless linear power delivery.

Africa Twin has been known for its DCT automatic variant as well as the manual variant. Both of these gearbox options have also followed the new update. A DCT and a 6-speed constant mesh transmission along the slip-and-assist clutch feature the ultra-capable adventure motorcycle from Honda.

Africa Twin Design & Features

The newly updated motorcycle uses the same design as the previous bike with a wider front and narrow mid-area design which helps the rider to access tough off-road areas easily. The front end uses a telescopic fork setup as the suspension while the rear-end of the bike use a pro-link mono-shock single-suspension.

Honda has used a semi-double-cradle steel frame in the new bike to provide more structural rigidity to the design. On the feature front, the new bike uses an all-LCD MID screen which inherits the new tech such as a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), 2-Channel ABS, HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) and Bluetooth Connectivity feature. Both MT and DCT variants get four default riding mode settings: TOUR, URBAN, GRAVEL and OFF-ROAD to cover most riding conditions plus two customizable USER 1 & 2 settings.

Honda has also added Android Auto and Apple CarPlay options to the MID LCD screen for multipurpose usage on the go. Other features include the all-LED headlights, LED DRLs, and cornering lights as well.

Africa Twin Color, Price & Availability

The newly launched motorcycle is available in two colours i.e. a Pearl Glare White which is only available for the manual variant whereas a Mat Ballistic Black colour option is available for the DCT variant. Honda will sell the new 2022 Africa Twin Adventure Sports via the Honda Big Wing dealerships in 7 cities pan India. The price for the manual version is Rs 16.01 lakhs (ex-showroom) whereas the DCT is priced at Rs 17.55 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
