2026 Kawasaki Z900: What's New?

Kawasaki has launched the 2026 Z900 with a few subtle updates, primarily focused on aesthetics. Starting with the basics, Kawasaki has introduced two new colour options: Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Grey with Metallic Flat Spark Black, and the brands signature Candy Lime Green with Metallic Carbon Grey. The first offers a stealthy, premium tone with subtle copper frame highlights, while the latter brings back the trademark Kawasaki boldness. Beyond the visual changes, no mechanical or feature upgrades have been added this year.

What Remains the Same?

Underneath the refreshed bodywork, the Z900 remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. It continues to draw power from the 948cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine, producing 125 PS and 98.6 Nm of torque. Moreover, the Z900 gets a new 5-inch TFT console that supports smartphone connectivity. Other features include a bidirectional quickshifter, four riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain and Rider, two power modes (Low and Full), four levels of traction control, wheelie control, slide control and cruise control.

Pricing

Kawasaki has priced the 2026 Z900 at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a Rs 47,000 hike over the previous version. The brand attributes this increase partly to the revised GST 2.0 regime, which now levies a 40% tax on motorcycles above 350cc, up from the earlier 31%.

Verdict

The 2026 Kawasaki Z900 is proof that some legends don't need drastic reinvention. While the refreshed colour options inject a hint of freshness, the bike's mechanicals, performance, and features remain untouched, for better or worse. The Rs 47,000 price bump might sting, especially since it's largely cosmetic, but the Z900 still stands tall as one of the most balanced and engaging inline-four nakeds in its class. It's the same beast, just wearing a new suit
