Ather 450S e-Scooter Launched At Rs 1.3 Lakh - New Variant Added To 450X

Ather Energy has finally launched a new affordable and low-range version of its popular e-scooter. The Ather 450S e-scooter has launched at Rs 1,29,999 only. Alongside it, Ather also introduced two new versions of the 450X. These are priced between Rs 1.38 lakh to Rs 1,44,921 (ex-showroom Bangalore); depending on the variant chosen. Ather 450S E-Scooter & 450X Variants - Detailed Differences

The biggest addition is the new base version i.e. the 450S. It hosts a similar design as the 450X but it gets a smaller battery pack, less range, & fewer features. The first change is the removal of the TFT touch display. It gets a new DeepViewDisplay which is an LCD unit. It offers all the necessary info on the go. To accommodate the operational controls, a new joystick is offered on the left side switchgear area. On the right side, a new dedicated parking button has been placed to reverse and park the scooter easily. Underneath its body, it gets a 2.9kWh battery with a 5.4kW motor. It has a claimed range of 115 km per charge and a top speed of 90 kmph. It also gets three different riding modes.

The 450X, on the other hand, now gets two new variants. The first is a smaller battery pack option with a 2.9kWh capacity. The second one is a bigger battery pack option with a 3.7kWh capacity on offer. Both of these models are powered by the same 6.4kW motor. But, the claimed range for the smaller battery is 111 km while the bigger battery can do 150 km of riding. The charging time for the 3.7kWh option is 5h 45m, but, the 450S & the 2.9kWh version of 450X can be charged in 8h 36m.

Pro Pack & Other Changes

Pro Pack will be offered on all of these new models at a premium of Rs 20,000. Pro Pack allows the addition of advanced features like extended riding modes. For example, the 450S gets SmartEco, Eco, Ride, & Sport modes. Meanwhile, the 450X gets 5 riding modes: SmartEco, Eco, Ride, Sport, & Warp. Further helpful features that you get with the Pro Pack are guide-me-home lights, coasting regen, navigation, tow/theft notifications, ride stats, inter-city parking and more. Apart from the availability of the Pro Pack, there are no further changes to the Ather's popular e-scooter. Its design remains the same and so are the hardware.
