Ferrari has officially announced that it will be launching its first electric vehicle in late 2025. The debut of an electric car reflects the automaker's efforts to shift from high-performance electric vehicles to battery-powered vehicles. Ferrari's First BEV: Details

While we don't have much information about the upcoming electric car. Ferrari has confirmed that the BEV will be made with a new approach altogether. In a statement, Emanuele Carando, Product Marketing, and Marketing Intelligence Director, Ferrari said that "The car will make some noise, both literally and figuratively". A report mentions that the BEV will come with a signature exhaust which will take forward the Ferrari's legacy even in the electric version.

The official also mentioned that it will be a "True Ferrari". He said that its noise will be authentic which will continue to follow the Ferrari's original essence. The electrified Ferrari will also offer an all-new driving experience when compared to the current gasoline-powered models.

Ferrari's EV Transition Roadmap

Till now, we have no hints about the design and name of the upcoming BEV. The company will soon start the production process of the upcoming electric car at the new Maranello facility in Italy. Some reputed business journals have reported that Ferrari will get 5 percent of its sales from electric vehicles in 2026.

Ferrari's Stand on V12

While heading toward a transition from ICE to electric vehicles. Ferrari has already confirmed that it will keep the V12 unit on offer until the regulatory bodies force discontinuation. The company will keep gasoline, electric, and plug-in-hybrid powertrains as options for the customers.

Verdict

With its move to launch an electrified Ferrari by 2026, Ferrari has become a pioneer among its competiors globally like Lamborghini. Lamborghini has also declared its plans for an electric grand tourer, the Lanzador which will expectedly debut in 2028. Ferrari expects 40 percent of its sales to come from electric and hybrid models by the end of this decade which seems to be a planned effort by the luxury carmaker.
