New-Gen Ecosport Coming To India?

Ford has submitted a fresh design patent in India, indicating a potential return of the American SUV to the Indian market. The recently filed design patent bears a resemblance to an SUV previously sighted in the Indian market years ago. It could potentially be the next-generation Ecosport tailored for the Indian market.

The distinctive design features outlined in the patent include LED daytime running lights paired with LED headlamps positioned in the bumper, a prominent grille, a sculpted front bumper, and a contoured hood, among other details. The front exudes an aggressive yet appealing appearance. There is no visible sunroof in the design patent.

Currently, the brand has not officially confirmed any news regarding its return. However, various reports suggest that the brand may re-enter the market around 2025. This new SUV could potentially pose as a competitor to models like the Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, and other midsize SUVs in the Indian market.

Regarding the engine options, the brand is considering introducing its new diesel engine to the Indian market, which was well-received by customers in the Ecosport.
