Honda CB300R Discontinued?

The Honda CB300R has been removed from Honda's official website. It was a Neo-retro motorcycle launched in February 2019 as a CKD import, but it was discontinued in 2020 due to BS6 norms compliance. However, it was not over for Honda; they relaunched it in 2022, this time with localised parts, keeping overall costs low at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom). But then, in October 2023, prices were slashed to Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable for the buyers. However, all this seems to be didn't working out for Honda beacuse still CB300R was the least selling bike of their lineup. Meanwhile, despite being a good looking bike, It lacks modern features such as a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and ride modes also put it at a disadvantage compared to newer rivals.

Although Honda has silently removed it from the website, it might be for a new fro an upcoming update or maybe a new generation. But for now, it is out of the shelves, but you can still get the remaining stocks at your nearest Honda BigWings dealership.

Specifications

At the heart, it is powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which belts out 31.2 bhp and 27.5 Nm of torque. However, it comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, it rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends, suspended on USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties were handled by a 296mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

Verdict

The Honda CB300R's disappearance from the official website hints at an unannounced discontinuation. Despite its strong design, premium feel, and lively performance, the bike couldnt draw enough buyers in the fiercely competitive 300cc space. With modern rivals offering more features and value, the CB300Rs exit seems inevitable, unless Honda surprises us with a refreshed, feature-packed comeback.
