Aprilia India might be gearing up to surprise us motorcycle enthusiasts yet again. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer seems to be developing the Tuareg 457; a smaller version of the Tuareg 660, which would be built on the RS 457's platform. The Aprilia Tuareg 457 might possibly make its global debut at the EICMA 2024, or possibly later.

Aprilia Tuareg 457: What To Expect?
On first impressions, the motorcycle pictured here appears to be a fully-kitted out, rally-spec version of what is possibly the Tuareg 457. If one were to look closely, the side engine casing of the motorcycle in pictures appears similar to what we have seen on the RS 457.
According to a press note, the road-spec Tuareg 457 will produce 46.9bhp at 9400rpm, which is similar to what the RS 457 puts out. However, the torque figures are not known yet. The race-spec version of the Tuareg 457 claims to put out 54.2bhp at 10,500rpm, with a claimed top speed 'exceeding' 170kmph.

According to reports, the frame and the swingarm of this motorcycle come from the bigger Tuareg 660, and it will feature a single disc brake setup on both ends. The dry weight is said to be rated at 160kg, along with a tank capacity of 13.5-litres.
More details are yet to be known, and we expect things to unfold further in the months to come. However, road-legal changes will obviously take place, and much like the RS 457, the Tuareg 457 too will be manufactured locally at Piaggio India's plant in Baramati. The Tuareg 457 will likely go up against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the KTM 390 Adventure, and the BMW G 310 GS.
Verdict
With the possibility of Aprilia developing a Tuareg 457, things are looking good for motorcycle enthusiasts, and especially adventure lovers, since they now get a shot at owning an Italian motorcycle for not too high a price tag, especially given that the RS 457 has also been priced rather sensibly. However, like we said, more things shall unfold in the months to come.
