KTM 390 Enduro Spied Testing - Check details of the Adventure 390 Based Motorcycle

Based on KTM Adventure 390; a more serious off-road motorcycle was spied testing. Read details of this Enduro test mule from KTM.

KTM is globally applauded for its chassis and engine setup, especially over their adventure and off-road motorcycles. One of its globally well-selling products is Adventure 390. Now a KTM 390 Enduro has been spied testing which is anticipated to be based on its adventure counterpart.

This test mule of the proper off-road motorcycle was seen using a lot of components from the Adventure 390 but in modified form to adjust the new build. Although what KTM will name this motorcycle is still unknown it will most probably be a very exciting motorcycle to launch this year.

The test mule was heavily disguised but a few noticeable changes were keenly visible. The first thing to notice is the use of the same frame which is made of trellis tube, as seen over Adventure 390. This is to keep the kerb weight of the new motorcycle as low as possible. Low weight means more maneuverability which will transform the new motorcycle into a great trail explorer.

KTM test mule was seen using a completely new swingarm. Short in size, the new swingarm is expected to come from CNC construction. If we compare this to the smaller off-road motorcycles from KTM which use a diamond construction swingarm, the new swingarm is easy to work on. But still, it is not sure whether this will make it to the production version.

Other changes include the use of redesigned bigger engine braces which seem to be machined by the CNC process. The bigger engine brace is to provides more support and strength to the off-road motorcycle.

As this is going to be an off-road motorcycle that aims to be used mainly for trail and extreme off-tarmac riding; both the tyres are now spoked-wire rims with a 21-inch setup. The prototype motorcycle was seen using Continental tyre rubber which may vary on the production version motorcycle.

The adventure and off-road motorcycle segment are emerging in Indian two-wheeler segment. Over the period, there has been a demand surge in the off-road oriented motorcycles and trail riding has exponentially increased pan India. We are not sure when this new motorcycle will make into production and whether it'll launch in India or not; but the constant demand for such products and huge success of Adventure 250 & 390 definitely suggests that Indian market is ready for such a hardcore off-road motorcycle product.
