KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Royal Enfield to launch EV bikes under new sub-brand - 'Flying Flea'.
  • First Electric bike to launch will be The C6 in Q4 of 2026.
  • Second bike to be named - S6.

Royal Enfield's maiden electric motorcycle will be launched with a new sub-brand - 'Flying Flea,' and the first product will be the C6, set to launch in the Q4 of 2026, confirmed by the CEO of Royal Enfield, B. Govindranjan. To add more, post the C6 launch, the automaker will bring another product called the S6. Notably, there are no current or concrete plans to establish Flying Flea as a seperate business entity.

However, the company is exploring the possibility and is expected to announce a decision by the next quarter. More information is provided below. In the meantime, make sure to join 91Wheels WhatsApp Channel to stay updated with the latest in the automotive world.

Flying Flea

A sub-brand of Royal Enfield created to offer timeless design motorcycles with cutting-edge technology, catering to urban and city commuters, said B. Govindranjan. Also, currently there are no plans to make Flying Flea a separate entity, and it will remain an integral part of Royal Enfield. Moreover, currently the brand is evaluating its retail strategy to decide whether to open a new store dedicated to EVs or continue with the same stores, and a concrete decision on it will be announced by the next quarter.

C6

Royal Enfield made a strategic investment in Stark Future SL, located on the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain, around 2022, with the aim of co-developing electric bikes, as Stark has expertise in battery technology, motor controllers, and winding techniques. Now, talking about the C6, it's currently in the production stage with a dedicated team of around 250 members. The C6 was first showcased at EICMA 2024 and appears like a modern-day Royal Enfield but retains the DNA.

Lastly, in the Indian e-two-wheeler market, you'll see more scooter brands than motorcycles, but there are a few like Revolt, Oben, Raptee, and Ultraviolette, so if Royal Enfield steps in, this two-wheeler electric market will turn upside down, we believe.

Verdict

So, now it's confirmed that Royal Enfield will launch two electric motorcycles by 2026 - and the bikes are in the production stage. Also, since there are no mass-market popular brands in the electric two-wheelers segment yet, RE could have a first-mover advantage, but only if they launch first. So, let's wait for further confirmation.
