Ather Rizta Unveiling On April 6

While we have spotted the Ather Rizta family scooter on multiple occasions, this render brings forward a much clearer image of what to expect. On the face of it, you can immediately infer that this is a bigger form factor than any other Ather scooters we've seen in the past. Not only this, it diverts towards the conventional scooter design, a first from the brand which is known for its sharper approach to styling.

Another parallel you can draw at its first glance is its resemblance with the TVS iQube electric scooter. It also has a similar curve and design philosophy, which is again a family-centric scooter in the market. In previous spy shots also, we got a good idea about its luggage-carrying capacity with its large enough floorboard. If it could provide a good enough range, it could also sway some buyers away from the Honda Activa's corner as well.

Boot Space And More Details: New Revelations

In the latest post by BikewithGirl Instagram account, Ather Rizta's boot space was revealed, which is evidently quite bigger. While these promotional videos gave away this side of the scooter, looking at the veiled model, we caught something more. Ather Rizta will ditch both disc brakes like the Ather 450X for a front disc and rear drum brake setup. On top of this, we can see 12-inch tires like the ones with other Ather scooters.

In terms of specifications, it will be revealed on April 6, the Ather Community Day. On top of this, the Halo Smart Helmet and the Athetstack 6 OTA updates will also be made public alongside the reveal of the Ather Rizta.

Verdict

Diverging from its performace scooters, Ather is all set to foray into family friendly scooter space which makes perfect sense. If you have to strike a chord with the Indian buyers, you have to strike a chord with their family first, and this one seems to be nailing all the right points.
