1. Finally Tubless Spoke Wheels, But....

What sets the Scrambler 400 XC apart from the standard Scrambler 400 X is its use of tubeless spoke wheels, while retaining the same wheel sizes of19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Along with this upgrade, the XC variant also comes equipped with a high-mounted beak-style front fender, a painted windscreen, and adjustable brake and clutch levers, all offered as standard features.

2. Heavier Than Ever And More

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC

The Scrambler 400 XC continues to use the same suspension setup as the standard Scrambler 400 X, featuring 43mm USD forks up front and a gas-charged monoshock with preload adjustability at the rearboth offering 150mm of travel. While the seat height remains unchanged at 835mm, the XC variant tips the scales at 190kg, making it 5kg heavier than its standard counterpart.

3. New Colorways

The Scrambler 400 XC is now available in three fresh and eye-catching colour options: Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White, adding a dash of personality to its rugged styling. In my opinion, its the Racing Yellow that will be getting a second glance on roads going by just how flashy (in a surprisingly good way) it looks,

4. Engine Retained

The Scrambler 400 XC shares its 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with the Scrambler 400 X and Speed 400. This motor delivers 40PS at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm, paired to a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts. The unit remains the same, but with a 5kg heavier weight, the driving dynamics might be a slightly different that the rest, although the difference is not very noticeable.

5. Pricing

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC

Triumph has launched the Scrambler 400 XC at Rs 2,94,147 (ex-showroom), positioning it Rs 26,540 above its sibling, the Speed 400 X, which is priced at Rs 2,67,607. The Scrambler 400 XC comes with a standard five-year warranty that also includes a year of complimentary roadside assistance. Buyers can further extend their warranty coverage for up to 10 years as well.

Verdict

The offering of more standard equipment with the XC, it is sure to attract more buyers, esepcially those looking for the functional upgrades that the most expensive Scrambler till date has to offer. Not to forget that the 400cc unit also gets the Speed range as well that has its own set of charatceristics, which comes with a more affordabe T4 variant as well, something that can be expected with the Scram line-up as well.
