Triumph Street Twin & Street Scrambler motorcycles are soon going to get renamed. The only change will be the badge while the bikes remain the same.

Renowned British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph is soon going to rename its popular motorcycles. The Triumph Street Twin and Street Scrambler will soon be called Speed Twin 900 & Scrambler 900 globally.

Triumph has filed the official documents in Australia for renaming both of the motorcycles. The documents have already got the approval & the rebadged bikes are expected to roll out soon. Generally, manufacturer rarely renames their products but when they do they change the product too. Although, this case is different than the generalization and no changes other than rebadged names will occur.

The main aim of renaming is anticipated to simplify the product lineup nomenclature. With the Speed Twin 900 & Scrambler 900; the lower capacity bikes will become in sync with bigger siblings. For example, customers will easily be able to understand the difference between Scrambler 900 & Scrambler 1200. Triumph recently renamed its Speed Triple with 1200 badge in 2021. This was done via an upgrade of engine specifications as well.

Currently, Triumph sells the Street Twin & Scrambler with a 900cc, parallel-twin motor. This engine peaks out at 64 hp & 80 Nm of power and torque figures. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-assist clutch is used for power delivery. The new rebranded bikes will embrace no technical change in specs or features.

As of now, Triumph has already buffed up showrooms with MY22 bikes. We expect the new rebadged bikes to be available in the market by the 2023 first half. While there is a risk associated with such renaming; this step can simplify the product range for customers in the future. Currently, the main rivals of Triumph in India are the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Ducati Scrambler 800, Honda CBR 650 R, etc.
