2023 Hyundai Verna is spotted testing in India for the first time. The new-gen Verna will come with a new design & hybrid tech as well.
Hyundai is testing its new-gen Verna sedan in India. The 2023 Hyundai Verna test mule was caught testing in southern India recently. The new car is codenamed as BN7 & it is anticipated to embed a completely new design. Hyundai is testing the new Verna internationally as well and the global debut is shorting near.
2023 Hyundai Verna Design & Features
The new-gen BN7 Verna is expected to carry over the design cues from the elder sibling Hyundai Elantra. It shall embed the new overall design that is also expected to be bigger in dimensions. The bold design will enhance the mature appeal of the Verna sedan. Hyundai will focus on a wider and sharper front design with a reworked front grille, new LED headlights as well a new bumper. The bonnet lines are also anticipated to provide it with a muscular look. Hyundai might also fit a split-headlight design on the BN7.
Similar to the front, the rear shall also feature new stretched-out LED taillights and a longer overhang. The overall length will increase due to the overhang increment in the car at the rea. Hyundai might also eliminate the short rear bench space issue of Verna with the new design. Hyundai calls its new design language 'Sensuous Sportiness' and it is already been used on cars like the Hyundai i20 in India.
Known for equipping the products with segment-first features; Hyundai will introduce new tech in the BN7 as well. The feature list might include the likes of a panoramic sunroof, large 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment, and even a fully digital instrument cluster with new graphics and more driver info.

BN7 Engine & Specifications
The new-gen Verna is expected to continue using the existing 1.5-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines. What possibly could be seen as new, might be the use of a mild-hybrid technology to increase the efficiency of the new car. Gearbox options will include the manual, iMT auto, DCT auto, and torque converter automatic as seen in the current car.
While the rivals like Honda City Hybrid & Maruti Suzuki Ciaz are equipped with full-hybrid & mild-hybrid tech respectively; the new Verna will also be equipped with it. Along with the improved fuel economy, it will also feature tech like brake-energy regen and automatic start/stop as well.
2023 Verna Launch & Price
The newest generation of the Hyundai Verna is expected to debut globally at the beginning of 2023. Once it makes to global debut, the car will launch in India by the first half of 2023. Pricing is expected to rise due to bigger dimensions, new features & more equipment fitment. The current generation Verna sells between Rs 9.33 - 15.37 lakhs ex-showroom.
