The new fresh images reveal the exterior details of the car. The new-gen Celerio has been internally codenamed as 'YNC' and it will be based on the carmaker's new Heartect platform. Also, though the test mule is completely camouflaged, we can make out that the new-gen Celerio will be longer and wider than its predecessor. It will get a higher ground clearance and will sit on a longer wheelbase too. At the front, one can see that it gets a new grille, new bumpers, redesigned headlights and new fog lamps. The side profile of the car shows the new multi-spoke alloys, ORVMs with turn indicators and a tall-boy design. At the rear, again it gets new bumpers and new taillights.

The previously spied images of the new 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio reveals that it will get a more spacious cabin, a new layout for the dashboard, new steering wheel and more. The new-gen Celerio will be powered by the same BS6-compliant 998cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. This motor will churn out 67 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. The engine will come to a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as an AMT. It will get a CNG variant too. At present, the petrol-powered BS6-compliant Maruti Suzuki Celerio is priced between Rs. 4.41 lakhs - Rs. 5.58 lakhs while the bi-fuel CNG variants are priced between Rs. 5.60 lakhs - Rs. 5.68 lakhs. Hatchbacks With Highest Discount For November 2020 - Details

It is no secret to anyone that Maruti is all geared up to launch the updated Maruti Celerio next year. Alongside the Celerio, the brand is also working on the new Alto 800 which is also expected to go on sale next year. Having said this, here is an exclusive 2021 Maruti Celerio spied video which gives us a clear indication on how the upcoming model will look like.

To start with, the test mule of the new 2021 Celerio seems to be bigger than the present model and gets a redesigned front fascia. The car gets a sleek grille at the front and an air dam below the number plate. The halogen headlights are placed towards the side while the indicator lights are placed on the fenders. Since there are no wheel caps on offer and other exterior features are also missing, we expect it to be a base, LXi model.

However, it is worth noting the fact that the car still gets liftback door handles on all four doors and also on the tailgate. In addition to this, the new Celerio also features internally adjustable ORVMs. The rear profile however still looks largely similar to the present model and gives us a familiar look. The design of the rear bumper is also expected to be revised. The new bumpers do feature reflectors at both sides. Moreover, the car also gets a high-mounted stop lamp on the rear glass.

The car gets a new centre console with two cup holders and centrally mounted front power window switches. A 12V power socket is also seen on the central console. This engine comes mated to a 5-Speed MT while the customers also have a choice to buy an automatic variant which gets a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The upcoming Celerio is also expected to get CNG variants on offer and the prices of this car are expected to start from around Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki Celerio was offered with a good amount of features when launched in 2014. By today's standards, the specs sheet of the Celerio feels short when compared to the competition. Maruti Suzuki Celerio is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cyl petrol engine which produces 68PS of power and 91 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti also offers a factory-fitted CNG option but that is offered in lower variants. The CNG model produces lesser power - 58bhp and 78 Nm of torque. However, if you drive the CNG model in petrol mode, it will churn out the same 68PS and 91Nm of torque. The Celerio was the first Maruti car to come with AMT transmission and it created a lot of buzz in the market.

Earlier too in July, the discounts on Celerio was the highest and the same continues with this month, August. The hatchback comes with a 1.0L petrol engine used in S-Presso and WagonR. Maruti S-Presso



Also known as the mini SUV by Maruti, the S-Presso is a peppy car which uses the same 1.0L petrol engine found in Celerio. The car delivers an excellent fuel economy and offers a better ride because of its height. Maruti is offering Rs 50,000 as discount which includes Rs 25,000 as cash, Rs 20,000 as exchange and another Rs 5,000 as a corporate discount. 



Maruti Dzire Petrol Facelift

Every manufacturer is trying their best to recover the losses they bore in the lockdown which is yet to be lift-off. As both the manufacturing facilities and dealerships were closed last month, all the car and bike manufacturers reported zero domestic sales. To get the sales on the track again, Maruti Suzuki has announced various discounts across the range of BS6 cars.

Maruti Suzuki Alto Discount- 20k cash + 15k exchange



Maruti Alto is the cheapest car in the Maruti portfolio and it is offered with a cash discount of Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 exchange discount. The discount is available in both petrol and CNG trims. Powering the Alto is an 800cc 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 47.3 Hp and 69 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Powering the Dzire is a new 1.2-litre dual jet petrol engine producing 88 Hp and 113 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT box. Maruti is offering discounts on all these aforementioned BS6 cars but it may fluctuate from city to city and dealer to dealer. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is more than a decade old running hatchback and with time it's popularity has grown among first-time buyers. This hatch provides huge cabin space and the new-gen model gets updated features and technologies. The AMT version on the Wagon R comes in two engine options - 1.0L and 1.2L and the power figures are quite vast. The ARAI certified mileage for both sticks to 22.5 km/l and 20.52 km/l respectively.

Hyundai Santro rivals with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and the hatchback does come with a smooth and reliable manual-automated system. The shifting is quick and delivers an efficient mileage of 20.3 km/l. The top-spec model comes with Green inserts on the interiors, large touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 



We have left out Datsun Redi-GO and GO as the BS6 versions for the same have not been launched. We are not sure whether they will be launched with an automatic version or not!

Top Seven Most Affordable Automatic Cars Under Rs 6 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has almost updated all of the cars in its portfolio with latest BS6 emission norms. It was the Maruti Eeco which we covered just a few days ago and now the carmaker has introduced Celerio BS6. The prices for the same starts at Rs 4.41 lakh. 



Comparing the prices with the BS4 then Maruti Celerio BS6 sees an increase of Rs 15,000 - 24,000 for some trims. The top-spec ZXI (O) trim sticks at Rs 5.67 lakh. All prices relate to ex-showroom, Delhi.

Under the hood, the Celerio remains unchanged as it sports a 998 cc, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. It produces 68 bhp on tap and a maximum torque of 90 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT gearbox. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency sticks to 23.1 km/l.

The Celerio also comes in CNG trim and returns 31.79 km/kg. However, with the cleaner fuel, the power figures get dropped down to 59 bhp and 78 Nm. Maruti also introduced a 0.8-litre in house diesel engine too for the Indian market sometime back. However, that was discontinued due to the poor sales and now it continues to sport a 1.0L petrol engine. 



The styling of the Maruti Clerio remains the same and receives no cosmetic changes. It comes with basic safety features like dual airbags, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Rear Parking Sensors, High speed alert system and front seat belt warning.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals with Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO and the upcoming Tata Tiago Facelift. The hatchback has been in the market for over 5 years now and doesn't dominate its segment that much. The cab aggregators though like this car. The sales were quite high when it was first launched and now it's not even close to what it sold before.
